Auldington is non smoking within the hotel. This hotel does not accept cancellations. Auldington began a new era, opening as a private hotel in January 2005. Previously a convent since the late 1800's, its grand facade, high ceilings and historical features now contrast with stylish contemporary interior furnishings and modern local art. Auldington offers functional design, a lift, air-conditioning in all rooms, a quiet central location, superb gardens, spacious grounds and easy car parking. Broadband and wireless internet is also available. Bathrooms are modern and 12 of the 18 rooms have a deep luxurious bath or spa bath. There is also 1 room offering wheelchair access and disabled facilities. Auldington is extremely well located only 10 minutes walk to the city centre, excellent restaurants and cafes, the Cataract Gorge and river cruises. Local, friendly, genuine staff will endeavour to deliver an experience above expectation. A tour booking service is available and our knowledgeable staff can provide you with information about local attractions and Launceston's fabulous restaurants and cafes.

Auldington Launceston Guest Reviews

4.2 out of 5

A great private hotel close to town. Had character. Service acceptable and house staff friendly. Although it was only $5.50 per day, the additional parking cost was not appreciated. There is little chance that guests would arrive by any other means than by car.

The Auldington was a lovely small hotel with a very friendly feel within walking distance to the town centre. It was clean and fresh and a perfect alternative to the larger more impersonal hotels one often stays in.

I am used to 4 1/2 - 5 star Hotel style accomodation. This was very different to what I am used to, it was more like school dormitary type accomodation to me, however it was quite comfortable although I would not rate it 4 1/2 star. I would say 3 1/2 - 4 star but for the price with a continental breakfast included it was good value for money. Staff were very pleasant and it was clean. One problem I did have was getting in and out of the ensuite, it was very small, you had to squash between the door and sink to get to the toilet.I did love the old style building from the outside.

Very nice boutique hotel with great views. I was impressed when the manager went to great lengths to accommodate extra guests at short notice.

The young man on Reception was particularly helpful providing details of restaurants in the town, telephoning to book a table and then giving very clear directions. The hotel was peaceful, in a quiet setting with pleasant views and rooms which are modern but comfortable.

Very comfortable and every thing adequate for a pleasant stay. We were upgraded to a suite which was very nice. As it was listed as an old building previously a convent we had expected it to be decorated in period style but it was more modern than we had hoped. But pleasant staff and would use it again. Walking distance to the centre of Launceston.

The hotel is well presented and service and attention to detail is good. The old style building appealed to me but may not meet the needs of those looking for a hotel with all modern facilities. I'll stay again when next in Launceston.
