"Access to this hotel is via a staircase/lift lobby that is very grotty and unwelcoming. Once you get past this and actually enter the small reception the hotel itself (although fairly basic) is adequte. The staff were very helpful in booking day tours etc. Although the rooms were satisfactory and clean they were not very sound proof and you could hear talking and the plumbing from the adjoining rooms. There was also no English TV channels, which after being away from home for a while you are really hanging out to hear the news of the world. Breakfast was a typical cold contintental, and the coffee was good. The convenience of the position in relation to the train station and all the major attractions certainly makes this a good base in Florence if you are not seeking luxury." - Anonymous
"Our accommodation was in a separate building to the main Hotel about 100 metres away. This was a small inconvenience. Room and bath were a good size and very clean. Breakfast was OK. Location ideal for train travellers." - Keith Moore

The hotel is in front of the central train station S. Maria Novella in the city center. It is close to the congress center, piazza Duomo and all the other monuments of Florence.
All the rooms are quiet and sunny. The windows look out onto the most important monuments and have a view of the hills around Florence.
The hotel is on the third floor of an historic building of the 19th century. There is a private elevator to reach the hotel.

The hotel is in front of the central train station S. Maria Novella therefore all the trains and buses of Florence with connection for Chianti, Siena ,Pisa and airport with bus in 20 minutes of travel every 30 minutes.
We have a breakfast room and a bar area. All the main rent car company is around the hotel (AVIS, Hertz, Maggiore and other). The most important city tour to begin with is beneath the hotel.

You must arrive in PORTA AL PRATO here you go right and keep soon on the left following the indication STAZIONE after the 2nd traffic light turn right in VIA JACOPO DA DIACCETO, go straight on keeping on the right so you arrive on VIA LUIGI ALAMANNI here follow to the number 5.
south you have to go out from the motorway A1 tool booth “FIRENZE SUD”, then follow the indication “VIALI CIRCONVALLAZIONE”
north and Tyrrenian sea you have to go out from the motorway A1 and A11 tool booth “FIRENZE NORD”, out of the motorway go on the second on the right and follow indication STAZIONE – PORTA LA PRATO- VIALI DI CIRCONVALLAZIONE then 1st on the right following the indication now you are on VIA BARACCA continue straight on
By train
At the central station of Florence SANTA MARIA NOVELLA go on the end of the rail, turn right go down the stairs, cross the traffic light in front of the station, turn right on the side walk and after 10 m you are in front of the no, 5.
