Aurum International Hotel Xi'an

A great 4 star hotel in a down town central location, convenient to everything. Don't miss the Great Mosque, Starbucks just off the Bell Tower, and take a taxi to the Little Goose Pagoda so you can see the fantastic museum they built there. The collection of sculpture and glass is second to none I've ever seen, and they don't even mention it in the guide books. Btw the staff speaks English, even if you speak Mandarin to them. Not a problem, but just another point on how nice a hotel this is for westerners. I've been to 40 different Chinese cities, and have never stayed at a nicer hotel than this.

A really nice hotel with very helpful staff. We arrived at 8.30 in the morning after an overnight train journey and they checked us in immediately and even upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost. It has a lovely swimming pool and small gym and there is a great variety of food at the buffet breakfast. They also do a great dinner buffet. Would stay here again

Modern hotel, staff helpful, English spoken. Room good size but cold and heating inefficient. Ate in restaurant - buffet which had a good selection, but again it was cold. Location good walkable to Drum Tower, etc.

The rooms are rather small, we had two connecting rooms, one without daylight. It was still okay because we used that room as the children's bedroom. The hotel's breakfast is reasonable, although the diningroom gets very busy with all the tour groups. Breakfast is much cheaper when purchased on site as opposed to through the website! (about 50% of the price). Location is excellent. Cars can be hired easily from the hotel for a low price. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotels restaurant caters to the tour groups and lacks atmosphere and is overpriced, so we dined outside the hotel. Good coffee shop nearby as well (K coffee).

Good price for a hotel quite close to Bell tower etc. Quite comfortable accommodation but a few marks on carpet and furniture suggest it needs an update. Aircon did not work in my room. Good breakfast. Food, drinks and hotel car to airport at premium prices, but good alternatives available nearby. Friendly service and good english.

We were all very pleased with the hotel. The only crticism we would make is that our bedroom was a bit small and the bedroom that our sons shared was only inches away from a concrete wall! Nevertheless the standard of the hotel was good and we would use it again.

Everything about the hotel was extremely good. The value was exceptional due to the fact that we booked through rates to go as opposed to booking direct to the hotel.

A very clean hotel ,excellent reception with very helpful staff good swimming pool and sauna .We were also unexpectedly upgraded from standard to superior room which made for an even better stay. Easy walking from Airport bus shuttle stop opposite Drum tower and close to the Action, would definately stay there again

Good value for money. Located with walking distance to attractions downtown Xian. The restaurant has good ambitions and we had an entertaining dinner. However, I would have expected somewhat better English speaking staff. Would stay again.

Nice place. Excellent assistance from all concerned. Terra Cotta guide left a great deal to be desired though. Since this was arranged through the hotel, I think they might want to be more careful with the guides they recommend.
