we enjoyed our stay! Avalon has a super location. We were right across the street from Lumus Park and the beach. We also had a fantastic meal at the restaurant A Fish Called Avalon. The rooms were clean and quiet and the staff was very helpfull with local sights and shopping. We would absolutely stay again.
The place was cool but the customer service could be better.
1. Visited the beach and night life of south beach. 2. There was nothing missing that would of made my stay more enjoyable. 3. This was better and greater then my last trip to south beach which was in 2010
Great Location. Friendly staff! Fun Times, I will do it again.
The hotel reservation system apparently did not receive the prepaid [...]reservation so we could not check-in until Management resolved their problem. It took an hour before we could check-in. Per the [...]"deal", we were supposed to receive a $25 credit at the hotel restaurant good towards food and drink but we never received it because I had no "proof" of that deal and they claimed they had no knowledge of that arrangement. I did not have a print-out of the [...]itinerary. The a.c. in the room worked well but bring some earplugs if you are a light sleeper due to the street and neighbor noise. The continental breakfast was a good mix but don't be late. They clear the buffet at 11am sharp, even if you are in the middle of serving yourself.
We were at the Avalon for a quick stay, to catch an early flight the next morning. Wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is sort of at the beginning of the art Deco strip, right across from the beach. Was a good place to start a walk down the strip to see what South Beach was about. Staff extremely friendly. We valeted our car but could have gone to a garage very close to the hotel. Rooms were basic . Comfortable beds. Clean
great location on the strip in south beach. easy walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The rooms were fine, beds were comfortable. free breakfast was very nice.
It was a tad noisy but it is on the Avenue with all the action. Directly across the street from a lovely park and the beach as well. The restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, is expensive but well worth it. The food is five star fabulous and the atmosphere is both lovely and fun. All in all, you certainly got the feeling of old Havana while staying at the Avalon. I would definitely recommend staying there for a true South Beach experience.
Had a great time right in the heart of everything, close to the beach, good restaurant, just take simple ear plugsand it's almost perfect.
The hotel is really clean, and right across the street is the beach. It is on the same street as many clubs, but once inside the hotel you do not hear any outside noise. Was really impressed with the price.
Perfect Location, Nice people working there :)
Ok Hotel, Best location on Miami Beach!
I enyoyed staying at the Avalon very much. You do need to be prepared to pay 20 dollars a day in valet service which is worth it in my opinion, parking on South Beach is a zoo. The windows let alot of noise in eventhough they are closed, but it was not disruptive. Our heater made some noise, and our room was changed no questions asked. The rooms are old but clean and simply, and tastefully decorated. They provided breakfast an upscale continental with french toast meat and cheese, fruit, boiled eggs. One gripe, after a long day of shopping, I would have liked to order room service instead of getting all dressed and having to order and sit in th main dining area, although the service was excellent (18% grat. automatically added). I will visit the Avalon again.
Hotel provides a very nice breakfast with room. Very pleasant service staff. Near alot of restaurants and bars. Nice beach across the street.
