Call ahead and have them arrange for the airport shuttle, half price of taxi and no great delay. Friendly and eager to help staff, were able to store luggage for early arrival and start our museum hopping and restaurant sampling in Istanbul. Breakfast was simple but adequate and was included to the rather reasonable room price. The only negative was the room size, which was very cramped, bath and shower tiny! However, clean , with free WiFi. The location more than made up for the cramped accommodations, waling distance from Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar. Fun and safe to discover the old city Would recommend staying, but would consider the deluxe rooms for an additional 30 Euros/day if room comfort is important.

A great little freindly hotel right near all the big attractions. Breakfast buffet was large and varied with continental selection also.

Hotel is in great location near the main sights of Istanbul, the tram and many restaurants. Room was small but comfortable, lower level rooms have small courtyard but no view, could be a littlle claustrophobic for some. Staff were friendly with a little english spoken. Rooftop restaurant and deck with great views of the Bosphoraus. Breakfast had large selection to choose from.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Avicenna Hotel Istanbul. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but it was marred by the fact that the night before we were leavingwhen we asked to settle any payment for minibar etc, we were told that we had not paid for one of our rooms (3 rooms were booked for our party) and that we must settle by paying 861 Turkish Lira. After several phone calls and about 45mins arguing we were told "o.k" - no apology was given for their mistake. All in all the reception staff were rather surly and unhelpful.

We were wonderfully surprised by this cute little hotel. It was very clean and pretty. Also very conveniently situated within 2 minutes walk from Blue Mosque and about 4 minutes walk from the closest Tram station. Free wireless internet in the room was wonderful! The only downfall was that the breakfast room is small and we had to wait a few minutes every morning for a table. I can definately recommend this hotel.

Excellent location near Ayasofia and Blue Mosque. Restaurant on top floor with good menu and food, with view to Sea of Marmara and Asian side of Istanbul. Rooms clean but small - but who stays in a hotel room in a place like Istanbul, unless sleeping? Very courteous and helpful staff, and good prices (February). No swimming pool - but none expected. To repeat, very good location.

Though the hotel is in a good historic place, it is difficult for the texi driver to easiley get to the hotel. However, the metro line is only 6 minutes away from the hotel. The breakfast is acceptable for the price of the hotel. It includes several types of jam and cheese and limitted other things. The people are nice.

Great Location, good room and breakfast. Bit of a disaster checking in. Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, they only had 1 room reserved when I arrived. Had difficulty getting them to understand the booking. Sorted the rooms with phone calls and despite leaving all the details for my collegue who was due to arrive late at night, when he did they couldn't find his reservation. Organisation a bit suspect. Otherwise, it was a good hotel.

Room is very small but nice. The staffs will be helpful if tipped.

Excellent location - Blue Mosque is only 100m up the road. Small boutique hotel, but reasonably priced. Tiny room at the back - recently renovated, functional, with TV (only Turkish channels), mini bar and safe. Nice bathroom. Only downside is train track running behind the hotel so pack ear plugs!

a small but cozy hotel with very helpful and english speaking staff. very close to the Blue Mosque in the old town centre. A bit close to the train trail, noisy sometimes. recommended

The hotel is superbly located for all of the sites of Istanbul. Rooms are good and staff are friendly. The day after we arrived for a 3 day midweek break, we were advised of our return flights being cancelled due to the Icelandic Volcano. The staff were fantastically supportive and flexible to our ever changing needs - even dropping the room costs for our extended stay. I am leaving this feedback in a way of thanks for all that they did.

A pleasant good value for money hotel in a superb location very close to the main istanbul attractions but in a quiet area. Upper rooms at the back have a great view over the Bosphorus and the nearby railway is not really a problem as night trains are very infrequent. Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced but very few guests seemed to use it

My room was at the back of the Hotel and about 10 metres from a busy railway line that had trains from 4 am till after 11 so not good if you are a light sleeper!! Room was superficially clean but there was a lot of dust underneath the bed and settee. Bar had no atmosphere but the staff were extremely good and very helpful

My room was in a backhouse, connected with a short walkway to the main building. Small but well appointed and comfortable. Service was first rate, the staff were friendly (to the point of sometimes overloading me with information and suggestions on what to do). Questions were answered quickly and effectively. Breakfast was quite good and generous. Safe in room and free wi-fi everywhere in the hotel, international TV channels. Comfortable lounge with TV behind the lobby. The only downside was at the lovely upstairs restaurant, there is a huge TV where people were watching football when I wanted to enjoy a quiet moment overlooking the Marmaris. The location is outstanding, a very short walk from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia.

The white Victorian decoration made the feeling of elegance and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is good. The location very near to Blue Mosque & St Sophia. The toilet has heater. The receptionist was not so friendly, not even ever smile to us and worked not so efficient, we have to wait very long at the lobby.

Overall a very good stay in a wonderful central and quiet location. Maybe not the best solution if you have a lot of baggage.
