Avista Resort & Spa Kata Beach

beautiful club room with views of bay. only drawback is that the hotel is on top of a hill so have to walk up and down to go to beach/city. breakfast was good.

This hotel is in a great position for everything, beach, shopping, nightlife, cafes and bars are all on the doorstep. Staff are very friendly and speak good English. Rooms are exceptionally clean and up to date. Our request for a late checkout to 2pm was given with no problem. As we had a flight late in the evening, a room with shower was provided free of charge later that afternoon, so we could freshen up before our flight. Another great plus was that the hotel laid on a free, twice daily, shuttle bus to (and from) Patong and Karon Beach which means you can avoid the Tuk Tuk mafia/rip off. The only negative was that a family must have been staying on the floor above us and we could hear them occasionally thumping around. That said we would highly recommend you stay at this hotel.

Compared to high-end resort hotels in the Carribean, Mauritius and Egypt Avista is superb value for money and great to explore Phuket. It has a boutique feel. Perfect location in a small town with great beach. Avista has better than expected features and impressive attention to detail for a 4* hotel - delightful library room where you can use the internet/read books/newspapers, plus lobby internet PCs. 'Avista Club' rooms are stunning with sophisticated lighting and aircon system - 5* standard. Avista do not overcharge you, discounted spa treatments. The restaurant is good value for money and good menu. The huge breakfast is perfect and is better than most resort hotels - always stay B&B! When I go back to Phuket I will certainly stay at Avista as I know that the experience will be great. Sure if you pay 4-5 times and stay at Banyan tree there might be a couple of extra luxury features but the difference is minimal and they will charge you for breathing! Avista is superb!

Very nice hotel. Good facilities. Wonderful staff.plenty of shops and close to both Kata and Karon beaches. Taxis to Patong 400 baht but the hotel provides complimentary shuttle to all 3 of those destinations. Breakfast good and restaurant good value. Bed a bit firm for my back but the club room we stayed in was excellent with a wonder ful view of the sea.

a very nice hotel clean, friendly staff and over all an ejoyable stay. price is a little high but also is the standard. Staff were very helpfull myself and my friend enjoyed our stay very much

We have requested for a club room which the hotel reservation staff has confirmed that it will come with seaview, however to our disappointment,. our club room has only pool view. When we requested to change to a room with a seaview , we were informed that it would only be ready the next day at 2pm. However the new room wasn't ready until 5pm, which to our 'surprise', we found that the lock to our new room 402 could be opened without insertion the card key ! We were very concern about the lack of security and requested to be transfer to another room. We were told that only our previous room is available so we had to move back ! Our biggest surprise came on the 3rd day, when we returned from our room, we found the door was left opened by the housekeeper. I think such lack of security in a 4 star hotel is really unacceptable.

Nice and quiet hotel. However, not recommended for family with young children. Being newly open, the Housekeeping is not up to standard. I stayed for 5 days and everyday the chambermaid will forget to clean or clear something from my room.
