Avni Kensington Hotel London Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

This hotel is a good basic place to stay in a nice area of London; convenient to the Underground, Hyde Park, and the Albert and Victoria Museum. The room was very small, but if all you need is a place to sleep, for the price, this will fit your needs. The staff were very responsive.

I stayed in the room on the 1st floor towards the back. The hotel has free Wifi but the signal was extremely weak in my room. I had to go to the lobby. The room was a double but they only gave us 1 key. When we asked for 2, they looked at me like I was crazy. The room and bathroom size were fine (I'm used to small European hotels) but the EXTREMELY small shower size was ridiculous. It was uncomfortable. The room has cubbies for storing shoes and items of clothing. The hotel is in a good location. There are better options out there so look around.

Quite nice hotel in a quiet and cosy area of London. Close to the tube and restaurants, supermarkets, museums, Harrods etc. The rooms are small but nice. Modern and clean bathrooms. Some of the rooms have air condition. Compared to other 3 + stars hotel in London this seems like good value for money. Would recommend.

The hotel room was very small and the bathroom was tiny. The location was good though - close to underground, shops, restaurants.

Good value for money. Clean and practical. My room was smal, but being only one person, it was ok. Very suitable for short stays in London, very good location with superp comunications. Very nice neighbourhood. Weerkend guests might be noisy.

Dear Would-be Guests, I cannot say anything about Avni Kensington Hotel except good. The room was small, but cosy and clean (let's hope they keep their cleaning ladies). Bathroom is the same. The location is close to Gloucester Road subway station, easy to access the historical centre. The breakfast is perfect. In summary, this hotel is a good value for your money. I would stay here next time, too.

You've got to remember that this is a cheap hotel in a very good area. At least this means that you can stay in a good part of London for a good price. However, you won't get the same comfort as the more expensive hotels. With this in mind, this is a great hotel. You can get onto the District, Circle or Piccadilly Line at Gloucester Road Tube which is very close. Breakfast was good, although the room feels like a canteen. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable with everything you need as well as a flatscreen TV. The heating also worked well. My only complain has to be the shower's water pressure which makes showering a pain. We also found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel is situated in a select area of Kensington 5 minutes walk from the Gloucester Rd tube station. I was going to visit the Natural History and Science Museums which were nearer the South Kensington Tube Station, but on foot from the Hotel it is about 15 -20 minutes' walk away. Reception always seemed to have a guy present at all times. Superior Double Room had a Queen sized bed, tea making facilities, large flat screen TV, a small desk & chair and an on-suite shower/toilet. All was very clean and tidy. The hotel had no bar and only 2 small breakfast areas where a continental breakfast was served - up to 9:30 Mon - Sat & 10:00 Sun. Only 2 small details noticed - the hot water tap only had a trickle of water but the shower was OK. Only one pillow per person supplied, heating was fine when I arrived but was cold when I got up in the morning then was back on again when I was going out! Comparing the room to the Strand Palace rooms, it was half the price and comparable.

I have stayed at this hotel two times now and have had positive experiences. My room on the second stay was smaller than the first but as London hotels go this was fine. The room was very clean, comfortable and simple. The location is very good and less than 5 minutes walk to Gloucester Road underground stop.

The hotel was very clean. The room we were allocated was very very small. There was a constant generator noise which kept us awake. Basic hotel and basic breakfast but would go back if another room was available. The location was very good.

Decent, clean hotel about 7 mins walk from Gloucester Rd tube station in a very nice area. Room was small but perfectly OK as a place to sleep - bathroom spotless and looked recently fitted out. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would certainly go back in the future.

Well located near the tube ( and also a tour bus stop) and within walking distance of Harrods. The rooms were small but comfortable and breakfast was basic. Ideal for a reasonably priced weekend away.
