Avonleigh Country House Blue Mountains Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

The room and hotel was lovely but the thin walls and plumbing was an issue. I could hear people talking until midnight from another room and the plumbing seemed to go off every half hour as if someone was flushing a toilet. I fell asleep at 6.00am and woke up at 8.00am. Not a good night sleep.

Our stay was pleasant but the house lacked a feeling of warmth and personalisation and felt more like a boarding house. The owners obviously don't live there and the guests are left on their own overnight. The staff on duty were pleasant enough but service was not personal so it felt more like staying in a pretty boarding house. Breakfast was minimalist - the availabity of soy milk and light milk would be appreciated. The garden is lovely and we really enjoyed the spring blooms. When the weather is warmer it is probably lovely sitting on the verandah.

The staff were helpful, the open fire delightful but the heating in the room didn't work - burrr. A short walking distance to echo point and the fabulous scenery and bushwalks and a healthy walk to the town cwntre and restaurants. Charming!

Lovely place to stay for a short visit. As we had a room downstairs we did not have enough natural light in our room.

A quiet and clean B&B. We didn't try the food as there were a few cafes or restaurants around the area that we wanted to try. But as far as bed arrangement, it was quite pleasant in the summer. There was a wall heater, but we didn't use it. Facilities were fairly basic - i.e don't expect mini bar, microwave or tea & coffee from the room. Although tea, coffee and biscuits are accessible from the common room. The doors to the room were fairly stiff to close. So, you'd bound to hear the slamming doors. Overall, I'd recommend this accommodation for the price and location.

Excellent location near Echo Point. It's not 5 star luxury but quite good of its kind.

Very pretty place but a bit bigger than I expected. Great for families but probably not the quietest place for a couple. I would definately go back again, it is so close to Echo Point and great cafes and galleries.

This guest house was only a few minutes walk to the Three Sisters - it was very quiet - and the breakfast was delicious.

Good value for the Mountains area. Good location near the Three Sisters. Good breakfast. Nice room although a little twee, but well heated. Clean and tidy. Bed a little soft. Overall quite happy for the price in that area.

Beyond expectations. Beautiful and charming place. Very cosy, felt like home. Service was great, not intrusive. Not very often that what you get is better than what you see on the website/brochure. Worth very cent. Well done.
