"The Balcon has absolutely stunning views down the valley to the sea. The BBQ held during the summer months is very good and also good value for money. The Manager Jose is a lovely friendly chap and we felt very comfortable staying there, it was almost a home from home and very straightforward, I sometimes feel uncomfortable staying in hotels as though I should be on my best behaviour at all times, not a feeling I like, but the Balcon is so homely and welcoming we felt completely at ease.

From the airport take the motorway A-7, also known as the N-340, direction Almeria. Stay on the motorway till either the exit 277 for Algarrobo, the exit 285 for Torrox. Both of these roads pass through Competa and the hotel is signposted from the entrance to the village.
