Barkly Apartments Melbourne

Our one small gripe was no exhaust fan in the toilet...

We enjoyed our stay (with two toddlers) and the location was great. We would have liked to have known in advance that this "serviced hotel" did not include service on the weekend. We spent a long weekend without any change of towels, etc. Not tragic, just unexpected. Otherwise, we would stay again.

very close to Acland St restaurant precinct which is a big plus,tram 3 minute walk.

Great location and price. We stayed there during the F1 Grand Prix 2008. It was close to Acland St, trams to the city and had secure parking at night. Air conditioning was good because it was blistering hot when we stayed. Also the room was larger than we expected. Staff were friendly and there was a Coles across the road should you need groceries. There was no room service unless you requested it and it was near a construction site (at the time). Those were its only two downfalls.

Somewhat basic accommodation but apartment was clean & had everything we needed. Friendly staff and I was able to leave my car after checkout while I went shopping. Very handy to Acland St & trams to city.

definitely turn up with your booking form as reception was not friendly without it. In a reasonable location to Ackland st and trams. Coles is over the road so fairly handy. Bit noisy at times with other residents coming in and out. Fairly good but not the best I have stayed with in this trip

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location a bit far from Melbourne city centre but tram service good except for late at night when it was crowded and noisy with a lot of drunk people, but then it was Australia Day! Private car parking very secure behind a swipe-card gate system.

Quest on Barkly was very convenient. Room Service was available but we only requested it a few times. We had great facilities available and saved a bit of cash by preparing our own breakfast each day. (A supermarket is across the street.) It is located very close to St Kilda beach and has a street filled with excellent restaurants about 200m away. Only takes about 15 min to drive into city, MCG etc so is a great place to stop.

All in all this hotel/aoartment compelx was good value for money. Location was excellent being in close proximity with the trendy bars and restaurants of Acland street. Alan the manager of this complex was very helpful and accomodating. The office isnt always open however so if you have any questions the best time to speak to someone is prob from 10 to about 9. the office can be closed out of these hours.

Reception people were very helpful. Our appartment looked old and need a urgent paint and fix up, eg old dirty blinds, bedroom cupboards draws missing etc. Didn't feel clean. Room was not vacummed for the 10 days we were there. Linen changed once. Towels every day.
