The hotel was great value for money if you just want somewhere to sleep. It was clean, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was great. The room was very hot as there was no thermostat control on the radiator. If you slept with the window open it was very noisy. The club was a bit of a shock to say the least! but otherwise a great location, five minutes from O'Connell Street.
At an amazing price, Barry's gave us exactly what we were after. The Bar was also a bonus with one of the cheapest pints in dublin. We found all the staff very friendly and also were fuelled for the day with a hearty breakfast monch, which included all the favourites. The seemingly impossible to lose roulette machine provided hours of fun!! Located in the heart of dublin, we were only a two minute walk away from bars, clubs, restaurants. Definately would stay in Barry's again. Highly recommended!!!
This hotel would be much better after applying some minor changes in the facilities. (Eg. more careful painting, changing some bedspreads, bordering the courtains) Some variety in the breakfast also would be wonderful. It is wonderful to have cofee/tea facilities in the room! Thanks for this.
Only problem we had was climbing the stairs to the top floor, very difficult especially on check in and out when you have bags to carry. Would stay there again but only if we could have a 1st floor room at the back, found the road at the front very noisy until the early hours of the morning.
Barry's was situated in a very central location which was great. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious. Bar prices were also very reasonable. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a disco downstairs at night but we didnt hear anything. Checkout was 12 noon and we were able to leave our bags at the hotel until out night-time flight. I thought it was very good value for money and would definately come back again.
the room was very basic but the beds were comfy.
Although convenient for the city centre, we were advised, once we'd got there, by a local man, that the area was undesirable, We were stunned to find that the hotel has a club open on weekends until 2am and a lap dancing club open nightly!!! We were also on the top floor with no lift and both arthritis sufferers! The hotel is a listed building (!) currently undergoing refurbishment so there was a lot of building noise. We were told that the nightclub will go as part of the changes. However, you get what you pay for, and the room was adequate and clean albeit somewhat jaded, and the breakfasts were adequate. Service was good and staff were helpful. I, personally, did not feel intimidated by the location during my 3 day stay.
it was worth the money. but beware of sunday nights. the bar in the hotel has something going on sundays and it gets very loud. i was up until 3 am with people screaming all night outside my window. other than that it was nice.
The Hotel is in desperate need of a new bed in room 1A as it was sagging and very uncomfortable. Also the fact that this room is above the main door meant if you open the window, you get all the smoke from everyone having to go outside to smoke. Also the noise that goes on until the very early hours is awful ,because customers from the nightclub and lapdancing club next door [adjoining]also have to go outside to smoke
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel has seen better days and could do with a bit of attention. However, the staff kept it fairly clean. Situation ideal for seeing the sights of Dublin.
Good central location and very helpful staff. Room nothing special but clean and adequate for our needs and price was very good. Nice full breakfast. Very helpfull staff - allowed us to check in early (10 am) and then let us leave our bags until 6pm (no charge) on our departure day allowing us another full day to explore. Good choice fro a short break, city centre location
Good value for money - we only used the hotel to sleep in - watch out for the Disco at the weekend - keeps going until 02:45. Good Irish breakfast.
Perfect location; a short walk to central dublin - little noise from the street - live irish music every sunday at the hotel - friendly and helpful staff
