LOVE LOVE LOVE this Hotel!!!! Wished we could have stayed longer!!! We will for sure come back here over and over again and recommend to all our friends and family and business acquintances. Anyone reading this, if you plan to visit Venice, huge mistake if you don't book this hotel. From the breakfast, the rooms, location, concierge service, the bellman were all superb! Overall this is a great hotel and a beautiful hotel overlooking the Grand Canal. Thank you Bauer Hotel for making our Venezia experience unforgettable.
The hotel & staff are very professional and pleasant to deal with. The basic rooms are lovely, not huge but the decor is traditional yet modern. The window was just facing out to the courtyard but with the noise of Venice we found the room a lovely haven to come back to. We had a meal on the terrace on our first night and it was so lovely, very romantic. Breakfast is also very good for a european hotel, lots of choice and great setting to wake up and have breakfast to. The location of the hotel is brilliant, 2 mins from St Marks Square but in a quite square so it really was brilliant. The only fault is with the price of drinks at the bar €20 for a glass of prosecco and a bottle of heniken. Our only real gripe: the hotel has a jacuzzi on the rooftop overlooking the canal but you had to pay €70 to use it. For a 5* hotel it should be included in the price. But being ripped off is the same as everywhere in Venice - but it is still the most beautiful city I've been to.
Excellent Location, Wonderful Views from Breakfast and Dinner. Truely fantastic hotel with St Marks Sq only 2mins walk.
The people were very helpful and exttemely polite.
We were extremely pleased with the Bauer Hotel Venice. The concierge was extremely helpful, the location was ideal and the breakfast restaurant was beautiful (sat right on the Grand Canal for breakfast). Only quirk is that getting to the hotel can be a bit of an ordeal, especially if you don't take a water taxi. The hotel could do more to facilitate getting from one's car to the hotel.
This hotel was in an excellent location only a few nminutes walk from St Mark's square. The service was excellent throughout our stay and the staff were professional and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. Room service was very prompt. The only slight negative (and it was only a niggle) was that the bathroom facilities lacked some of the usual items provided in a 5* hotel - for example sewing kit, nail file, cotton wool pads.
The location is superb (abt 100 metres from St Mark's) with a frontage onto the Grand Canal. It is a premier hotel, but, having said that, the hotel room was extremely hot (January 2007) and staff told us the air conditioning was variously "not working" or in one case "non-existent" [there being only heating allegedly). We were told to "open the window" but unfortunately it was extremely smoky outside, and consequently inside when we opened the window to obtain some relief. Some staff were great, a couple were stand-offish.
wonderful. Stay there if you can. It is a lifetime experience.
Excellent location, lovely patio right on the canal, great food. Large rooms and comfortable bathrooms. Expensive. If ones budget allows certainly a wonderful hotel to stay in.
I can't really rate the facilities as only stayed in the hotel for one night to attend a wedding which took place there. The hotel catered for the wedding which was beautiful so I can recommend getting married at the Bauer!
What a fabulous hotel, located on the Grand Canal, and with Il Palazzo rated as one of the top 500 hotels in the world, truly an experience worth having. We recommend getting up early for breakfast in order to benefit from the fabulous light of the early morning sun across the Canal. The concierge "sold" us on the idea of visiting the Murano glass factory, which we enjoyed and where we bought two small pieces. get a free water taxi ride to Murano and visit the glass factory.
Good location near San Marco but not worth the high price.
Excellent location just next to San Marco's square. Fabulous terrasse and good service.
We thought that both the bedroom and bathroom were too small for a 5 star hotel, with inadequate storage space. Otherwise the Hotel Bauer was excellent in every respect. The location is fantastic.
Excellent, don't need to say anything else.
Very nice hotel. Just one small remark. I booked a room with a city view. They "upgraded" me freely to a suite, but with no view at all (very dark).
Very luxuous hotel, ideally located excellently at the center of Venice. Spacious rooms, friendly staff. Very large breakfast buffet. Good resteurant, though if you are very hungry, you might need go out for a hamburger. I would stay again in this hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, had a lovely room in the with a tremendous view of the Grand Canal. Good location with good restaurants close by.
There is a reason that this hotel is always in the top 25 hotels of the world. Everything about it is impeccable. The staff were wonderful, the rooms were wonderful and the food is wonderful. It is not inexpensive, but how often do you get to Venice?
Excellent hotel for a special occasion.
