Comfortable hotel and perfect location for the World Heritage Trail. Good value for money

Room is Clean and Comfortable. Ideal for both business and holiday makers. High Recommended.

Hotel was clean and adequate. Some renovations going on at the hotel however, they did not disrupt us at any time. Felt the breakfast could have had a bit more western food.

Hotel was fast in responding to my requests. Clean and very efficient hotel. Good location with night market just right across the street or pay RM 15 taxi fare to more shopping and eating locations, Gurney Plaza and Gurney night market. We enjoyed our stays and hope will be back again.

The location is the reason for this hotel, as most of the old hotels do... rooms are huge..

Had a triple non-smoking room on level 11; room newly renovated :- Hotel Pros: Hotel staff friendly and helpful; room and beds' cleanliness good; flat screen LCD TV in room. Hotel Cons: Non-smoking room could only be confirmed on day of check-in (??); bathroom hand towel had to be requested. Other Info: Hotel breakfast(at "Kopi Tiam") offered quite a variety of food(roti canai, included with breakfast, was pretty good; note: had to order/collect at stall located just outside of "Kopi Tiam" breakfast area) but only orange or guava juice avail; Hotel located 20-25 mins slow walk to Komtar which has a few shopping malls around the tower(best shopping bargains is at Prangin Mall); taxi to Komtar from hotel is RM$10/=; taxi to Queensbay Mall is RM$30/=; taxi from airport to hotel was around RM$44/=.

I stayed 2 nights here. First impression counts in may ways and mine was pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were all fine, buffet breakfast was great with decent number of choices. There is live music bar right next to lobby which is great to relax, enjoy a drink and the live music; my song request was performed very nicely. Location is also great, few minutes to free Penang CAT bus, food street, main Georgetown area and other locations. Room facilities and size was all fine, just one thing bothered me a bit "very tiny ants walking around on tables and carpet". Overall stay was pleasant, and would recommend to anyone looking for hotels in Penang around this price.

Breakfast is sort of buffet but do not expect something like those offered in western hotels. No bacon, ham, or fish. The only meat dish available is some curry chicken. I asked for one boiled egg but was not offered.

Could do with a renovation. A place to bunk in at night.

Although on the older side, this hotel was clean, quiet, rooms of a good size, everything worked, staff friendly & helpful. Included breakfast offered a sound range of western and asian options. Location in Georgetown OK with dining options handy. Would stay here again.

Location is good and near nice food places. Overall service is fine, except the first night where we there are children running along the corridor which disturbs. Breakfast keeps so punctually that we did not manage to get much food because we came in late. Hotel nearby has a free shuttle bus that brings you to most city place in georgetown.

Great place to stay

We stayed at Bayview Hotel for three nights and it was great. The room was spacious and clean. The location was great too. Service at the hotel was excellent and the staff was always very willing to show you the way to Penang's attractions and food. Breakfast was not that good though. They could have changed the menu everyday but they didnt. Hence, we didnt look forward to the breakfast after the second morning. ^_^

We only stayed here one night so were unable to assess it adequately. It appeared to need some work done on it. Staff were good. Breakfast a little ordinary but worth a stay.

Reasonable for the price paid.

Very good hotel, the only complaint we would have was that we were allocated twin beds rather than a double and that the beds were very hard (this may be a cultural thing).
