Beijing Forest Land Hotel

"Think twice before booking this "hotel"..There's no elevator, no carpeting, some rooms (the one assigned to me for example) have no external windows - the so-called window is in the wall separating 2 rooms...no wallpaper - ans the walls have dirty footprints on them. Very noisy. Bad smell is everywhere. It is nothing more than a 1 star hostel, not a real hotel. I moved to another hotel after the reception refused to offer me another room with a real window and double bed." - Anatoly Semenov

"A nice hotel with kind staff. Just a problem that they absolutely don't know what you're talking about, if you're English. However, we succeeded in booking a great trip to the great wall and extend our stay with a few days. As it says in the brochure, the hotel is situated in a "big light hell". "We booked online including breakfast and were shown into the restaurant the next morning for breakfast, only to be presented with a bill for this meal. Our atempts to explain that we had already paid were useless as no one in the hotel spoke any English. The manager eventually told us it was 'no problem', but then when we checked out he again tried to get us to pay for this meal. The water in the bathroom had a bad smell. The location wasn't bad but the metro network is so good it's best to stay as close as you can to any station as you can then easily get to all the major attractions." - Anonymous
