Nice friendly motel, would definately stay again.
Very welcoming, comfortable if slightly firm bed. Toast and cereal fro breakfast included in room. Very good value for price, would stay there again.
Quiet off the highway accommodation in a garden setting. Room prices are for 2 people.New Split System Heating &A/ Cons.
Quiet off the highway accommodation in a garden setting. Queen bed and single bed or sofa.
The motel was set back from the main road so it was very quiet. We were toasty warm inside our room as the temperature dropped to 1 degrees overnight due to the quality reverse cycle air conditioner. The room was spacious and had a table and chairs in front of a sunny bay window to enjoy our afternoon tea.The tv was large and had crystal clear pictures on all channels. The toilet is seperated by its own private door and the shower rose was high above and the water was hot as it cascaded over you.Would recommend to anyone.
We return time and again to the Welcome Stranger because they live up to their name! The rooms are clean, spacious and we enjoy the complementary continental breakfast that's provided. Booking is simple and it's great value for money. It's off the highway too, so no noise!
We found the motel very good, a little noisy (but not excessively so) as it appeared to be on an alternate route that by passed the City Centre. Would stay there again.
Nice clean comfortable motel in a quiet country town. Owners are very friendly and the local sports club has great meals.
Nice big room, but the out of the way location and the holiday loading made it a bit expensive at $115.
Welcome Stranger has basic amenities but the rooms are clean, spacious and air conditioned. Parking is right outside your door and the Motel is away from traffic noise. The manager was friendly and helpful and made my stay very enjoyable. For the money I paid I was very happy and will definitely return.
Our stay was very comfortable and we found the room quite large by comparison with a lot of rooms we have stayed in. We had a continental breakfast included in our price but there was no fruit juice which I would have thought was part of a continental breakfast. Otherwise we were very satisfied.
Good hotel located a few kms out of the main centre. Having a car is a good idea to get around, although there is a bus stop right out the front of the hotel. Owner seems like a pleasant fellow and very acommodating. Hotel is good value for the price.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here while visiting friends in Bendigo. We have noticed how the new owners are improving the Motel, and find the rooms spacious, comfortable and clean. As it is located off the main road, we have not had problems with noise either.
The motel looked a bit tired , in need of a coat of paint. Although the facilities were adequate . even at the discounted rate I didn’t feel it was “value for money”. On the positive side it’s a couple of blocks from the main road , very quiet .
Apparently an older motel off the beaten track but still handy for Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square & central Bendigo & appeared to be well maintained. Biggest beef was inadequacy of lighting near mirrors for applying make-up.
Last minute booking on good value room rate No traffic noise as location away from major highway
It was late and cold when we arrived. A suggestion to the manager that maybe it could be more economical to have the heaters on some time before the expected arrival of guests as then the room would not be chilly, the heater could operate at a lower and possibly more economic setting and guests would not be using the highest, most expensive setting for a long period to warm up.
The Welcome Stranger was very clean and very quiet.
Pleasant standard motel. Location suited our travels on edge of city with good access to main roads. Short drive to other venues for evening meals
Staff were helpful and the location in a quieter area was very good.
