Don't get buried in the lower ground floor rooms that are overheated and a bit claustrophobic. Pay more and enjoy the refurbished upper floor rooms if you can afford it and then step out into Queensway and Kensington Palace Gardens for great shopping, great restaurants and beautiful walks. I would go back but not to the so-called (subterranean) Terrace Suite where even in November I had to leave the air conditioning/cool fan on the lowest setting all night in the below ground chamber it was so hot. Try the South Korean supermarket nearby and the wonderful Dim Sum specials at the Kam Tong restuarant just two minutes walk away. Nice, quiet side street, close to Queensway & Baysawter tube stations and a stroll across to Kensington High Street. Overall, pleasant and the staff are helpful.
Excellent hotel in a fantastic location. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a modestly priced London hotel.
Great value and good location! The room was very small but had everything needed except AC. The room felt cramped and hot with little ventilation. The fan provided didn't do much. Paying for breakfast, although a very nice dinning area, was not necessary as there was a cute little cafe just around the corner that serves a full English breakfast for a great deal. I wouldn't want to spend anymore time in the room than needed but it was a great deal for location and much better than doing the hostel route when traveling with more than one person.
Very small shower stall small sink. Obviously make for very small people. Other then that the stay was comfortale.
Excellent value for a low cost onvernight stay. Close to tube station & some excellent restaurants
Very small room. Very small bathroom and lots of noise from the pipes (from other rooms). I was given a room at groundfloor. Not recommend. Ask for room further up the floors. The staff started very early and they were noisy! Breakfast was ok, but service slow.
Had a 1st floor room facing the street. Not much traffic so quiet enough. Wouldn't want a room opposite the elevator. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Location was good being close to two subway stations, pubs and restaurants and a good walk throught Kensington Gardens to the West End. No free Wifi though. Considering the prices in London, seems to be reasonable value for money. Would stay there again.
Very near to the Underground station. Convenient stores, restaurants around close very late at night. The room is very basic but clean. Keeping luggage in their hotel is chargeable (50p each). This is the first time I've seen hotel do like this.
Inadequate number of towels provided by laundry service unless requested.
Seen some very negative comments on here, I can't complain at all, a 2 minute walk from Kensington Gardens / Hyde Park, Stayed in this hotel as it was less than a mile from the Royal Albert Hall. Room was small but adequate, clean and staff were friendly. Great if you are just staying in London for a show and want a good value room.
We stayed my boyfried and I for 4 days, and we thought that it was better to take the Superior Double room instead of the Standard Double Room for just 40 dolars more and it make a huge difference!! The standard double room it doesn't have anything to do with the pictures that you can see at the website. But the one we stayed it was just as the pictures. Highly Recomended!! We will go back for sure!
The hotel is very close to Bayswater tubestation. Great service and a very nice entrance. Only one negative, is the incredible small shower at room 405.
the rooms that we had did not match with the pics we saw in the net. the rooms were too small and the bathroom was even smaller i think 1.3*1.3meter. the weather was very cold in london and we couldn't get hot water for shawer. it is true that the hotel is very clean and good looking from outside and inside. this the first and the last time to stay in this hotel.
Very small room, very small bathroom, small amount of water coming out of the shower. Slow service in the reception, but when you get service it is good. Good locaton only 100m from nearest tube station and short distance to Oxford/Regent street.
Charming and cosy hotel. Kind staff. Close to the subway. Room in the old part a little small, bathroom even smaller, but everything you need is available. Good breakfast and dinner. Very nice and recommanded stay for a few days London.
The rooms are on the small size and the showers not ideal for guests on the larger size. But the hotel makes up with excellent customer service and location. 10 mins by bus to Oxford Street and 1 min to the nearest tube station. Shops in the area are closely located and close late - ideal for last minute gift shopping. Would definitely recommend it for quests
Turn right as you come out of Bayswater station on Circle / District line and you will see the hotel- about 50m away. On Central Line Queensway station- hotel is 300m on your left. There are numerous restaurants (out of which 7 or 8 are Chinese restaurants). There are also many souvenir shops, banks, a money changer, TESCO and Oriential City Supermarket all located on Queenway St - where the tube stations are. Hotel staff are helpful to tell you where to go for bus tours, shopping etc. Single Rooms and especially the toilet & shower are - small somewhat like on a ship but facilities are sufficient - with tea making facilities, safe, TV and hair dryer. Good place to stay on a budget if you do not mind confined space.
Arriving with a toddler, a pushchair and a large bag I struggled up the stairs to the hotel with no assistance. I was then given a room on the ground floor - great I thought. Not so. The hotel is made up of a number of houses knocked through, so tget to my room I had to go upstairs, downstairs and through windy corridors, again with no help offered by the hotel staff.
It was an alternate when my regular place ws unavailabl. It was very good location and level of service
A very clean hotel, located in the Queensway/Bayswater area, with very friendly service. Very close to numerous bars & restaurants, and about 15 minutes walk from the start of Oxford Street, and 2 minutes from Hyde Park. Would recomend it.
