I was a little skeptical at first on choosing a hotel for my visit to the Philippines to visit my girlfriend and decided to look around at some reviews before I choose this hotel . I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The room was ready when I got there , It was clean and quiet and the staff were very friendly and customer focused . I felt at home there and would definitely stay there again or recommend it to anyone . The free wifi in the room can be spotty in some parts of the room but was good enough to send emails and surf the net . Outside the hotel you can find many places to eat , overall satisfied with the hotel .

Not the greatest neighbourhood, a bit seedy, but not far from Glorietta and Greenbelt. Professionally run Hotel that seems to be properly rated in stars for its condition. I would certainly stay again if the need arises. Breakfast food selection is OK - but not always hot. In-room internet is very slow and VPN connections are impossible. Wireless works in the lobby, but VPN connections are still impossible. Fortunately I was able to use an open (no password required) neighbour's wireless to connect via VPN - but that luck could not be relied upon. Rooms are good, clean, well serviced, good staff, friendly and helpful etc.

Staff are friendly.. Good location, near restaurants. The rooms are ok but the wi-fi signal could not reach the rooms. The television is not clear.

It was a good hotel for the price. The location is good as it is right in the heart of makati city, which is the business capital of manila. Is close to shopping malls like greenbelt and glorietta. The hotel had an indoor swimming pool but the jacuzzi was not working. The room was decent size and clean. Staff was quite helpful. Close to the airport. Overall i would say that my stay at astor hotel was a good experience.

The lass at reception was very officious and inflexible and was not in the least bit corteous. Very disappointed with what was otherwise a great stay in a good hotel.

I had a free upgrade on check in, so front desk service was good. The free buffet breakfast is good quality (for Manila). The room was very large, but on one day of my stay the cleaner failed to visit and make the bed. My TV remote buttons didn't work properly. But other than these quibbles, I had a comfortable stay.

It's fine for the price, it's cheap so don't expect bells and whistles.

A nice hotel near the bustle of Makati. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was not too good though.

Clean and nice. Big rooms, with good furnishing. The location's not for everyone (it's right up against the red-light-district), but there's plenty of nightlife and food around, and taxis are easy to get hold of.

Nice hotel for the area, but shouldn't be listed as a Manila hotel. It's actually located in Makati, about halfway between the realyy nice areas, and the "Red Light District". Hotel entrance location keeps the "riff-raff" away though, so It's a good option. Much better than some of the other hotels in the area at only a little higher cost.

Would I go back to Best Western Astor Manila and recommend it to others? I would. Pricing: I'd say it was priced averagely but for me was still a bit high. Location: The Best Western Astor is within the Business District of Makati, at the Buendia side, along Makati Avenue. Ideally, it is very easy to reach by car, but traffic is horrendous during rush hour. The signages and tall buildings before and after somewhat blocked the sign of the hotel. Saw it when I was just a few meters away. Still, if you don't mind walking, the traffic wouldn't be a problem. The hotel is also within walking distance of the 'Asian District' of Makati. Service: Staff was very courteous, and requests I made were answered promptly. Cleanliness: Well-kept and didn't smell bad. I'm not sure if there's a smoking area, if there was, I'm glad I didn't smell any lingering smell of smoke. Room Amenities: Thank you for the bathtub, mirrors, tea-maker and hair dryer.

For the money it is a good hotel to stay but the location is poor. However if you want to be away from the crowed downtown area then this is the place to stay. Breakfast is great. Its the best part of my stay.

People at Astor was really nice and kind. The area was safe to walk around at night(at least, for me) and it pretty close to the Glorietta and Green Belt if you take a taxi, it won't take more than 5~10 min. I actually tried to walk to GreenBelt once and it took me only 30 min. When you got on a meter taxi, it would be better to tell the driver to go to City Garden Hotel which is accross the street. But, if you are traveling with children, the bars nearby might not be the things you want them to see.
