Berlioz Hotel Nice

"When I read about this hotel on various websites it said that all rooms had balcony, radio, aircon, tv...well 2 out 4 were true. We were first put in room no 2 which had no balcony or radio but was a good size and aircon was good. Owner asked if he could move us upstairs to a bigger room with a balcony which was quieter, this was room no 6, again no balcony and smaller than previous room! Bathroom door didn't close properly and showerhead kept falling off its stand mid-shower. Also, websites said all rooms were sound proofed....don't think so! We could hear next door running their shower and could hear people on the stairs or in the foyer 2 floors down, it was only the aircon or TV that kept noise out. Otherwise, cleanliness was good and staff were polite, location might be a bit too far out for those who are not good at walking and stairs would not be suitable for elderly or infirm people. If breakfast were included in price this hotel would be excellent value for money. " - Fiona McKenzie-Brown
