Frequent Daily Train service: to Melbourne 5.15 am - 7.15 pm: from Melbourne 8.00am - 8.45 pm Airport Shuttlebus direct from Melbourne Airport to Ballarat Train Station $23.00. Taxi from Train Station to Barkly Motor Lodge: $7.00 Distance from Airport The nearest International Airport is in Melbourne approximately 75 minutes from Ballarat.

Was disapointed our first nights booking which we had paid for had gone astray - they did find us another apartment which was so much nicer that tne Berkley for the same price - but couldnt stay there the 2 nights either so had one night in each and the Berkely Room was so small for 3 people - not a happy chappy

A very difficult and dangerous for some high shower over the bath made our stay less pleasant. The bottom of the bath was slippery and narrow for those used to a separate walk in shower and took some navigation to get in and out. The restaurant was very pleasant with attentive, prompt and friendly service with a good wine list, a good selection of dishes at very acceptable prices, flowers and immaculate tablecloths. We would go back unhesitatingly with different shower arrangements.
All was good but I was a mother staying with two young children and I was given the only room (which was also the disabled room) which opens directly onto the carpark, which was not the safest feeling. Other than that ok.
Very spacious room with all the facilities we needed. Location was within walking distance of the town centre, and with easy access to some of the touristy bits, especially the Eureka Centre and Sovereign Hill. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking space. Decent restaurant. Only thing that could be improved is the aircon unit which was very noisy. But good value for money overall.

We enjoyed our stay at the Barkly Motor Lodge very much - the price is very reasonable and the service excellent. It's the best motel we have stayed at in Ballarat without a doubt!

Iam very impressed with this HOTEL, Management & staff. They have been very courteous,Staff have gone out of their way to cater for my meal requirements & to top it off i was offered fresh lunch for work for the next business day which i accepted graciously & was devine. Above exceptional guest care. I have no hesitation in recomending Barkly ML & will be use them time & again in future.
