Old hotel. Location is great, near Grand Via street. Rooms need some modifications. Thin walls, noise from other rooms is a problem.
Excellent hotel, good location. Old style decor but very comfortable. Would stay again!
Plus Pleasant staff, nice breakfastbuffet and bar and of course location 10m from Gran Via Minus The hotel is a bit noisy due to old thin walls
Hotel was very nice, good location near Metro system with just one change from airport and then in easy walking distance to a number of local sites, would definitely recommend this hotel.
Location is great. Hotel is old so rooms need some modifications. Thin walls, noise from other rooms is a problem. Bad smell in the room was a surprise.
Good location, but not a very up to date hotel
Great Hotel which is in the centre of whats known as the 'Red Light District' I did'nt know this at the time but to be honest it was a great place to be no trouble and a great location for both Bus and Metro. Airport to Hotel 15-20mins and 3euro's each, can't go wrong, super Metro service too. Staff at hotel very polite, the Hotel itself is quite old in design but very clean and has all the facilities you'ed expect. Breakfast is not a Buffet type it's a proper hot cooked type with Scrambled egg, sausage and bacon plus fruits, cereals etc. Would definitly stay there again. Ps. You have to get to the market on Sunday, bring and extra bag you'll need it.
I loved the Mayorazgo. Staff were very helpful and it had a bright, cheerful holiday feeling. The location was excellent. The breakfasts werea great start to the day. I would be good if it had had internet access for guests and a computer that guests could use to check flights and email. European Hotels are a bit behind the times on facilities like this. It would also have been nice to have tea making facilities to make a cup of decaf tea in the evening. Europeans do not understand how addicted the English speaking world is to tea. The beds were somewhat hard and the fittings are showing signs of age. Neverthe less it is a great hotel
This is the fourth time we have stayed at the Mayorazgo Hotel during the last two years. I think that tells anyone who is thinking of booking all they need to know. Great location, clean rooms and good value.
The location was very good, in the hart of Madrid. The rooms aren't as shown in their site. They are much smaller and without any view. The first day they gave us a small room, not vey clean, at the first floor. The view was some pumps and the sun couldn't reach it. We asked to change the room and they took us at the 5th floor. It was much better, at least we could see the sun.
The hotel is is a more seedy area of town - there is a girls cabaret club right next door. It's like London's equivalent to Leicester Square. The hotel is ok - nothing special - you wouldnt want to spend any time there unless it's for sleeping. Breakfast you could take or leave, and the beds are tiny. Bathrooms are ok - clean and quite large. My stay there was average, I wouldn't go back.
The location is very convenient, being just off the Gran Via, but consequently is noisy, don´t stay here if you want peace and quiet. Internal sound insulation poor also. Worst feature is the bathroom, quite small with the WC tucked awkwardly in a corner alcove. Very little counter-top space for placing toiletries. Shower almost useless due to shower head falling apart. Ventilation is provided by a one metre tall louvred glass window extending upwards from waist height. This is OK in itself but there was a corresponding window in the adjacent room situated immediately opposite in the ventilation shaft. This means that guests can see into the bathroom of the adjacent room through the ventilation window. We were temporarily locked out of the room one night when the electronic lock failed to open. Breakfast is adequate but with limited choice, very average. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely not 4 star, but a good price for a hotel in central Madrid.
Me and my husband we have appreciated the location of the hotel. With its price and its grandness, it is one of the best choice in Madrid I think.
Average room, good breakfast with plenty of choice and excellent service from the Concierge desk. The location is good, with most tourist sights and shops in easy walking distance. As a package it was good value for the price. Recommended.
Fantastic location, close to centrum. Espana Metro station is like 2 minutes away. I would recommend this hotel
I don't think that there's anything wrong with this hotel. Very centrally located, excellent breakfast and helpful stuff. It lies almost on Gran Via Avenue and Plaza de Espana Metro station is like 2 minutes away. The only disadvantage is that it is kind of old but fully renovated. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Overall the hotel was good, but it is a bit old and old fashioned. The "air-conditioning" was just a vent and could not be adjusted. Temperature in the room was 24-25C. This was NOT what we wanted. For the rest, it was OK.
Overall a very positive experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Decor is a little outdated, but room was non-smoking and did not smell. Located just off Gran Via but was very quiet. Breakfast included was excellent. Did not have dinner at hotel as restaurant choices were fairly basic. Would stay again.
the mayorazgo is an old hotel which needs a good make-over the location is good
Location was great. Rooms a little bit run down and the breakfast was a disappointment.
