The Grand Hotel was inaugurated with great pomp and splendour on 5 October 1905. It was a first class hotel with magnificent interior fittings. The restaurant quickly became one of Halmstad's most popular music cafés with many celebrity guests. Over the years there have been many changes in fashions and approaches. The building still has the same external appearance as it had in 1905, but the interior has obviously changed. In September 2001 we opend our new Bar and Restaurant.

Getting there:
Location: -E6 - from the north: Exit 44 - Halmstad Öster Follow the signs towards "centrum". After the viaduct, turn right, signposted towards "Järnvägsstation". The hotel is opposite the station. Parking alongside the short side of the hotel. E6 - from the south: Exit 43 - Halmstad Syd Drive towards "Centrum". Follow the signs for "Järnvägsstation". The hotel is opposite the station. Parking alongside the short side of the hotel. -Rv 25 - Växjö/Kalmar: Continue straight on towards "centrum". ". Follow the signs for "Järnvägsstation". The hotel is opposite the station. Parking alongside the short side of the hotel. -Rv 26 - Nissastigen/ Jönköping: Follow the local road towards "Centrum/Hamnar". Turn right at the second traffic lights. Follow "Gammletullsgatan" which continues directly to the hotel. -Halmstad Airport: 3 km from the centre. Taxi. -Halmstad Centralstation:You can see the hotel on the other side of Stationsgatan! A pleasant walk, all of 40 yards.

Light was disastrous, in the bathroom as well as in the restaurant. It was impossible to see one's breakfast, and I had to read labels and indications out to other guests. Breakfast was not as rich as I had hoped by the description. Apart from this, easy and no problem. Nothing to complain about, nothing to particularly remember.
