"On a recent trip to Manchester for a concert, my friend and I stayed at the Princess On Portland for 2 nights.
Previously a Victorian cotton warehouse it is a very beautiful building with great character, an old style hotel which suits my taste. Room was very clean & what I would describe as cosy. The staff where very friendly with one employee asking if our trip from Scotland was nice & if we were looking forward to the concert. The location is great with plenty of food outlets, shops, & pubs in close proximity. It is approx. 15 mins walking time from the MEN & the Arndale Centre. Value for money was superb with us booking a Sunday night & recieving the Monday night free!
All in all the trip was brilliant & the hotel could not have been better. Clean, friendly, great value & a beautiful old building, all for a very affordable price. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Manchester, whether it be for 2 days or 2 weeks.
Oh! And the concert was amazing too!" - Paul Chatham
"Rooms very big, tidt reception area and very friendly staff. Ideally located 10 min walk to city centre only pain being no car park. BUT if you pay for daily parking £6 (NCP 20 yards from hotel) and then move it to street parking at 6pm it is then free until 8am...
Will certianly use this facility again.
Continental breakfast approx £5 fantastic value for money..." - Andy PEARSON
"A very pleasant and central city centre hotel, this was the second say at this hotel and ironically given the same double room, as the previous stay. The only down side was road traffic noise, being virtually surrounded by city centre traffic, but never the less, a lovely hotel with pleasant staff." - Peter Whitehead
"The hotel is ideally located about a 10/15 minute walk from Piccadilly Station and about 5 minutes walk from the main shopping area. The hotel is also right next to China Town. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and the hotel is clean and quiet." - Anonymous
