A charming hotel in the quaint little town of Albert, and near the Somme Battlefields of the 1st World War (the circuit of remembrance) as well as the old towns of Arras and Amiens. The hotel Royal Picardie has an imposing turreted exterior. The interior is equally unusual, boasting exposed brick walls, marbled floors and wide archways, which lend it a feeling of spaciousness. The fine dining restaurant serves exceptional regional cuisine. Our lounge, restaurant and lobby are air conditioned, as are the seminar and meeting rooms which can accommodate from 10 to 70 people. Parking is free, and we have tennis facilites.

Getting there:From the Motorway A1 take the exit number 13.1 Albert .D929 Cross the town of Albert. Take the direction of Amiens and the hotel is at the top of the hill on the right.

Stayed from 19 to 22 September. The hotel was almost empty and staffed by only 2 or 3 people at a time. Restaurant food was poor and grossly over-priced. Staff on duty were mostly very pleasant and helpful.
The staff are very friendly, helpful and polite and speak excellent English. It is always a pleasure to stay there.
A very odd hotel. Management is severe and unfriendly - not a pleasant place to stay.
This is an excellent hotel very well located just at the outside of the town wall but only 5 minutes walk from the centre of the action and ideally situated for transport. The staff were excellent and the rooms as well. Breakfast was also very good.
If you are looking for somewhere in the Somme region & want more than just B&B, then this hotel is ideal. The Staff all speak very good English & the food & service is very good.
