Our hotel is a pleasant family owned firstclass hotel with an enviornment from the turn of the century. There is also a library, in English style and a unique sauna inspired by the Westcoast. We have excellent conference possibilities for up to 60 people. The house was built in 1897, as residence for the Scottish instructors at Gamlestadens weaving mill. The hotel got it's name from the founder Hans Tidblom. He opened the restaurant in 1982, and one year later the hotel was finished.

Getting there:From the Central Station (Drottningtorget) Take streetcar number 1 (to Östra Sjukhuset), 3 (to Kålltorp) or 6 (to Kortedala). These streetcars depart from the stop closest to the canal. Get off at "Olskrokstorget" which is the 3rd stop after the Central Station. Walk across the streetcar tracks and continue past the small red houses that should be on your left and then down the pathway (called "Borgaregatan") between the apartment complexes for about 100 meters (300 feet). At the end of the pathway take a right and walk up "Olskroksgatan" for another 200 meters (600 feet) and the hotel should be right in front of you.

The reception lady Sonja was trememdously helpful and pleasant. She helped me print out tourist destinations i requested for and break change for tram rides (not easy to break change in Sweden...trust me, I tried like crazy). It was a very pleasant stay. I went to my friend's room at Gothia Towers and it wasn't half as nice as my Best Western Tidblooms.
I was extremely impressed with the service from the reception, very nice people. Everything was great, I was there for five nights and had no major problems. It was a bit loud outside in the morning but it was tolerable.
Very strange bar-restaurant. From dracula film in 70's. But food good enough. Long walk to car park in snow...
A bit off-side. Wireless Internet cheap 120 SEK/24 hrs, but signal in my room 302 was too low for Skype, I had to sit in the corridor;-) Lovely breakfast room.
