"Extremely friendly staff. Buffet breakfast great. We got a room upgrade without even asking for one because the hotel was very empty right after the New Year. On mentioning that we were in Rotterdam for the occasion of my girlfriend's birthday, the reception staff sent a free bottle of wine, two glasses and a birthday card up to the room. "I think I stayed in the older part of the building, as the windows were a bit rickety, not quite what I would expect at a 4-star hotel!
