The historic Buller has a multitude of activities, accessible areas of luxuriant forest, rich birdlife and a wild coastline. Andre, a New Zealand tour guide with 15 years experience can accompany you on a personal tailor-made local tour which includes a picnic lunch. He will help you find those places seldom visited by others. If your stay is for more that one night this service is complimentary. On arrival, many of our guests ask to extend their visit to more than one night. Why? you might ask. On arrival you will discover the answer to this.

Getting there:
FROM THE NORTH: From Westport, drive South on State Highway 6 for 17km. You will see our sign where you should turn right and drive for a further 1.7km.
FROM THE SOUTH: From Charleston drive North on State Highway 6 for 8km and cross both the Totora and the Big Totora Rivers after which proceed for another 0.5km to the top of the hill. You will see our sign where you should turn left and drive for a further 1.7km.
Check-in Procedure:
Lodge Guests should proceed to Birds Ferry Lodge any time after 4pm.
Ferry Mans Cottage guests should go directly to the cottage any time after 4pm. The key will be under the rubbish bin for you to let yourselves in. Feel free to drop by at Birds Ferry Lodge if you have any questions.

Private Parking adjacent to Lodge and cottage. Cottage has covered parking.
