Formerly part of The Albany, this little Gem of a hotel is found in one of South Yarra''s prettiest streets, a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of all that is offered in the area. It is in fact, situated in the best “pocket” In Melbourne. Originally a wonderful 1890’s Victorian Mansion with a 1960’s addition and once know as a musicians hangout in the early 70’s, the Bloomfield has been dragged into the 21st century and is fast becoming a hub for the fashion industry, music and corporate industry travelers both internationally and domestically. There are many different room types which are designed to cater to the needs of all our guests. From our newly renovated Studio rooms, to our Deluxe, Mansion, Mansion Suites and our fully equipped two bedroom Bloomfield Suite, there is something to suit everyone!! Getting there:Close to all forms of public transport, the Albany is on the corner of Toorak Road and Millswyn Street, 2 km from the CBD. The Number 8 Tram will take about 5 minutes to reach the city. A taxi ride from the airport is approximately $50.00, alternatively you can take the shuttle bus to the city and then catch a number 8 tram.

The air cond in the room didn't work so Reception offered another room but the air cond didn't work in that room either. Uncomfortable night and would think twice before staying again.
Very helpful and polite.Upon check-in we were upgraded to the mansion rooms.Huge rooms with plenty of room to move.Very clean & tidy.With only a short walk up the road to trams, makes it easy to get to and from the hotel.plenty of off street parking and close to cafes. Highly Recommend.
The Studio Rooms are our most recently renovated and funkiest rooms. With Queen size beds, black and white striped walls, mirror bedheads, red metal bedside tables, they may be small but are the coolest and most well priced rooms. All en suite bathrooms have been given a major overhaul and they all have flat screen tv’s, foxtel, on demand movies, mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, iron and board and telephone/clock radios. All our Studio’s have beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, offer complimentary broadband, access to our fabulous new Rooftop Pool and a midday check out.
The Bloomfield Deluxe rooms have all been fully renovated and are all situated overlooking leafy Millswyn Street, one of South Yarra’s prettiest streets. They are serene and shrouded in wonderful light filtering through the trees outside. Their overhaul took them from 0 – 100 in one giant step and included brand new bathrooms, a funky new fashion meets rock and roll themed bedhead, flat screen tv’s with foxtel, on demand movies, mini bars, fridge, coffee and tea stuff, amazingly comfortable beds and soft linen. With beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, complimentary broadband, access to our fabulous Rooftop Pool and a midday check out. Why not try one; our guess is that you will request the same room for your second visit.
These are our baby Mansion rooms and are all located upstairs in the heritage building overlooking either Fawkner Park or glimpses of St Kilda Road. They are cosy and comfy with a bit of old world charm and have high ceilings and fireplaces (best not to light them), king size beds and flat screen tv’s, foxtel, on demand movies, mini bars and all the mod cons of our other rooms including tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, hairdryer and irons with boards . These rooms have beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, offer complimentary broadband, access to our stunning Rooftop Pool and a midday check out.

The Millswyn Suite has a leafy outlook overlooking beautiful Millswyn street.This 1 bedroom apartment is most spacious and is conveniently located on the 1st floor, it includes Kevin Murphy products, free broadband and access to the new rooftop pool.
Ok – now we’re talking. The Mansion Suites are all located in our heritage listed Mansion. The 15 foot ceilings contribute to an amazing feeling of space. All have a fireplace (best not to light them) and some have gorgeous chandeliers. All of them have a sitting area, so you don’t have to entertain on your bed …unless of course that’s the idea. Throughout the room there is so much to do, raid the mini bar, surf the net with your complimentary broadband, wander up to the Rooftop Pool, watch Foxtel or an in-house movie on the largest flat screen tv’s in the hotel, read a Vogue Magazine, do a spot of ironing, wash your hair with Kevin Murphy shampoo, or simply lie down on your really comfortable king bed and be smothered in the softest doona and pillows right up until your check out time of midday the next day!! So much to do, so little time…We don’t suggest you stay in one alone…
The 2 bedroom Bloomfield Suite is what we like to call our “Rockstar” room! Imagine a red lacquered sitting room and Kitchen with a red fridge, white floorboards, a black and white striped wall, mirrors galore and a full dining room table for eight. The bedrooms consist of a King master bedroom which has windows on two sides including a view over Fawkner Park and a smaller second room with a double bed. The bathroom is large and sassy with a frameless glass shower, timber floors and a cowhide rug. Of course it includes the things that our other rooms have, TV’s, Foxtel, on demand movies, complimentary broadband, beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, a sound system, a fully equipped kitchen and all the stuff you need for tea and coffee, iron and board, full mini bar and of course a midday check out. When you are done checking out your suite, wander up to the brand spanking new Rooftop Pool with one of the best views in Melbourne!!
It was a great experience to stay this hotel. Very decent space with 3 people and price was So unreal good. Very close to tram and train service. I will choose to stay next time when I visit Melbourne again.
Exquisite old mansion convientely located with easy access to trams and Melbourne CBD. Staff very friendly and helpful and rooms very clean and comfortable.
From the outside this venue looks amazing & the location is stunning... Once inside the best thing about our stay was the comfort of the real king bed. There were no towels in our bathroom & slow delivery once we advised reception meant we were late to our destination. The daikin a/c didn't work, no matter the setting tried, very noisy housekeeping in the morning too. The lack of information & signage available to advise a "dnd or pls clean room" etc almost had people come into our rooms, even thought we had a late checkout & were still asleep! Thankfully this was only for a night, never again.

Room had flatscreen TV, but no digital stations nor SBS, this is poor for a Melbourne hotel; "complementary broadband" seems to cost about $10; the limited bar food seems to only be re-heated and costs $10 extra for room service - it's cheaper to get food delivered (and fresher) from local restaurants; the iron was dirty and unusable

Restuarant was very overpriced for the food offered (a very basic menu). Hotel room was noisy - good sleep was not enjoyed by neither me or my wife.
