The Hotel Boccaccio can be found in the heart of the historic city centre, in an area between the River Arno and the Church of Santa Maria Novella, a stones throw from the railway station, from Piazza Duomo and from the Church of San Lorenzo. This enviable position makes it possible to enjoy, within just a few minutes walk, the romantic atmosphere of the Ponte Vecchio, the works of art contained in the Galleria degli Uffizi and the treasures of the Galleria dellAccademia. Right here, in the heart of this extremely beautiful city, the Hotel Boccaccio is located in a building dating back to the 1700s, the ideal destination for an unforgettable stay, whether for business or pleasure. The extremely recent and diligent re-structuring together with the extension of the building, valorized by the original Carrara marble, has made the presence of more modern comforts possible harmoniously combined with the authentic Florentine style. The comforts available within each room are innumerable: self-regulatory air-conditioning and central heating, satellite TV, direct-dialling telephone, electronic safe, mini bar, hair dryer and Internet connection points. All the rooms have a private bathroom. At just 5 minutes walk by the hotel you can find a typical tuscany restaurant "Trattoria la Carabaccia"owned by the hotel and is open for lunch and dinner.

Boccaccio Hotel Florence Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

Boccaccio Hotel Florence is an adequate older hotel convenient to the train station and is OK for the price. Our room had the windows open when we arrived and had about 20 - 30 mosquitoes that kept us awake a good portion of our first night. The room, a triple, was small and cramped for three people but was functional since we spent little time in the room. Housekeeping was very good. The included breakfast was O.K but nothing special. Internet is available for an additional fee and there was no Wi-Fi. I probably would stay somewhere else if I returned to Florence.

Excellent choice - wold highly recommend. Staff were very helpful. Great location so easy to access and room for Italy was excellent in size and decor ... for price. I am glad I chose this hotel.

Great hotel, only a couple hundred meters from central station... very nice restuarant two blocks away. Our best experience in Italy!

The hotel was ideally located (for us), being very close to the railway station. It was also within reasonable walking distance of the major attractions in the city. The staff spoke decent English and were quite helpful. The room we had was a triple and it just about made it as a triple, sizewise. Breakfast was adequate, if somewhat limited in variety. We would stay here again.

Excellent hotel, friendliness of staff second to none, especially the female receptionist who volunteered sightseeing recommendations rather than having to be asked. Clean comfortable tho' slightly small room, good shower, adequate air conditioning etc. Easy access to and from station, nice walks to city centre via various routes through main and back streets giving varied styles of local architecture. Highly recommended.

The Boccaccio Hotel (named for the author of The Decameron) is a lovely boutique hotel in central Florence. It is a short walk from the train station but difficult to access by car because of one way streets and road works (and expensive on parking - 23 Euros for one night!). The rooms are small but well apppointed and the breakfast was ample. the staff speak good English and their advice on tourist venues or restaurants is excellent. We'd certainly stay there again!

The hotel is conveniently located next to the train station (and even visible from there). Ideal for a short visit (leave luggage there, spend the day in the city). Not much of interest in the immediate vicinity, but the city center is only about a 10-minute walk away, or possibly even less. Would definitely recommend for short stays.

The hotel was very clean and functional. The staff was helpful and the service was also very good. The appearance of the room was very good, no carpet on the floor (we like that - it's cleaner), classic decoration on the walls (wallpaper, classic furniture, paintings). Location is convenient, just 150 m away from Firenze's train station. This is a plus if you come by train (I assume most visitors do). However the area around the hotel is not so nice after 9 PM without being dangerous. From the hotel you're just a 15 minute walk or less from the Duomo and the Palazzo Vecchio. Price was very reasonable for Firenze's standards. The hotel also owns a restaurant, seeing how we liked the hotel we tried it but it wasn't anything extraordinary and the location is definitely not good. We recommend this hotel and we will likely stay there again in future visits unless I unexpectedly become rich and I can stay at a Five Star property downtonw :-)

Very close to the main station but triple window glazing means almost no street noise. Double/ twins rooms are smallish but very clean. Service excellent, and breakfast offers a wide choice for 'continental'.

The hotel is located 5 mins walk from the train station and walking distance to all major attractions. The staff is very friendly and flexible and will go out of their way to accommodate you. The breakfast is so, but tolerable. There is onsite Internet access, for which you have to pay. Overall, a good value and a pleasant stay.

Much more nice than the pictures show. Was skeptical as we approached the hotel as it was so close to train station, but I soon realized everything is close to the train station. The rooms and factility were very nice. The location to access all sites and restaurants was outstanding. The bathroom was a bit small and there was a bit of traffic noise. Would recommend this hotel in the future.

I stayed here for 3 nights in a triple room. The location was excellent - it was so easy to find from the rail station. Although our room faced the street it was not noisy at all. The staff were very helpful for the duration of the stay. The only minor complaints would be the lack of hot water on the last day and a heater that was a bit noisy. But overall it was great - I would definitely stay there again.

The Boccaccio provided an excellent welcome & desk service!; a good size room & very good bathroom facilities. The cold buffet breakfast was ample, varied & pleasantly presented & served. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard, including the attractive corridors. The hotel is very close to the station, which is convenient. However, when booking ask for a room at the back or side. The rooms that face the front have the usual scooter traffic noise of Florence. The windows are double glazed, but if you want the windows open for a while be prepared for traffic noise. This is not the fault of the hotel or its management. Eventhough, the hotel is close to the station & easy walking of the main attractions, I did not feel that I was in the midst of the tourist stream. I would stay at the Boccaccio again.

This was a great hotel - very close to train station but not noisy. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again. It was a great feeling to look up after leaving the station and see the hotel a few hundred metres away.

I enjoyed my stay very much at Boccaccio. The people at the front desk were very friendly. Althought it was located on a corner, it was not noisy (closing the windows helped to cut down on noise). The hotel itself is not near the tourist destinations (Duomo, Accademia), but it is convenient to the train station and many restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel was just OK, but the service was attentive and the coffee was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visitng Florence.
