Getting there:Situated in the city of Kota Kinabalu with buses plying to and forth. We are within walking distance to Banks, Government Offices, Airlines Offices, Food Outlets, Shopping Malls, Entertainment Outlets and Jetty to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park Islands from (Sutera Habour Resort). We are just 10 minutes to Kota Kinabalu International Airport and 8 minutes to the Tanjung Aru Beach by road transport. We are very near to the State Museum and the Queen Elizabeth General Hospital (10 mins walk). Only 8 minutes by bus to the Tanjung Aru Beach from the hostel. (In front, there's a bus stand)

Great place to stay only drawback 15 walk to town centre
Room was cleaned and tidied everyday, something unexpected for a backpaeckers' lodge. The fact that it is not located in the middle of town ensure peace and quiet for a good night's rest.

good value for money.
good value for money to just stay over night and goto kinabalu park the next morning. a bit far away from the city center, however there are frequent public mini bus (van actually, No 15, cost ~RM0.50) service at the back of the lodge. goto the main road infront of the lodge take mini bus No13 (RM0.50), you can (alight at the bus stop after Shell petrol station) reach the long distance bus station to get another bus to the kinabalu park (RM12 one way, depart when on full load). you can ask for free transfer from the airport, subject to availability, arrange in advance. keep the lodge's phone number, call them in airport to remind them. the lodge is clean, but there are no rooms with attach bathroom. the water pressure at ground floor is too low for a proper shower. the staffs are friendly and informative

What made this place outstanding was the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff - the staff were absolute stars! A very clean, basic facility with communal wet/kitchen areas and tv/internet service, situated slightly out of the city centre in the light industrial area. This was overcome with the backpackers free minibus service that seemed to run whenever you needed it, inc. airport pickup.
One of the cheapest places I have ever stayed, but I was very impressed. Place was very clean, staff were helpfull, and they put on a free minibus to town for you. Location was a little out the way, but only 7 MR for a taxi to or from town if the minibus isn't available. Will definitely consider staying again.
Despite the location of this hostel is far from the city center normally a shuttle to center Point is available in the evenings. Rooms are small but the price is OK. The staff is very friendly, specially Isabel who gives all information to have a nice time in KK.
