Getting there:From A1 Highway North, Exit Settebagni and proceed on Via Salaria for about 10 km, until Via Veneto. Then reach Piazza Barberini and take Via Quattro Fontane until Via Cavour corner. Make right and find the Hotel on right side(about 200 metres). The Hotel is located 200 metres from the Basilica of Saint Mary the Major. From Airport Fiumicino take train Leonardo Express till Stazione Termini, then Metro Line B for 1 stop (Cavour). From Ciampino Airport: from Ciampino/Vigna Morena Station, take line 551 till Anagnina stop.Take Metro line A (Battistini). Get off at the Termini stop. Take Metro line B for one stop (Cavour). Otherwise:Take the Shuttle bus to Via Marsala next to Termini Station, then Metro to Cavour stop.

Hotel is undergoing a much needed renovation. Most noise was restricted between 8am and 5pm, however we were not told that any renovations would be happening. Customers should be advised and receive reduced rate. Old rooms were tired but could be great after renovations. Breakfast needs improvement.
I've stayed in Borromeo hotel for a week. The location is very good, although the hotel is above the metro lines and you can feel it, since we were on the road all day it was absolutely no problem! It's only a few minutes from the colosseum, 15min walk from piazza venezia and 50m from the metro station! The room was very nice and spacious and there were only 2 problems: the first was the breakfast which is very poor in variety and quality, and the second the water refill in the WC... Other than that we had a lovely stay and the receptionists were very helpfull

We enjoyed our stay as this hotel is close to the Colloseum and not far from the Train Station. Our only issue was the fridge in the room didn't work, the room was a little small.

Great location. Breakfast adequate, but below par for the price. Courtyard rooms are quiet, despite being on a busy street.
Great and central place to stay in Rome. Room small but well appointer. Pay TV didn't work though, and some concierge staff less helpful than others. Dont take the Cabini tours advertised in hotel foyer. Worst tours I've ever been on!!
V pleasantly surprised. Hotel looked like it had recently been refurbished;room was beautiful with ensuite,minibar,TV& central heating/air con. Staff were friendly & buffet b/fast was served on roof terrace-great start to the day! Location-perfect.All main sights within walking distance.Colloseum only 10min walk,bus connections good &metro only 2min walk.Very easy to get to Termini station. Would definitely stay at Hotel Borromeo again.
very nice hotel at good price to stay in rome. try ask for rooms not facing the main street (via cavour). the breakfest could be better. for our opinion a little beat too hot in the rooms (in winter).
Borromeo is well located for tourists wishing to visit the Vatican area or via del Corso and surrounds on foot. All staff speak fluent English. Delicious buffet breakfast.
Booked online at lower prices, vey good value for money - in walking distance to colloseum.
