Rooms comfortable and pleasant rural location in the country, reasonable gym and pool facilities (at extra cost). Cheap Tickets rates provided good value though for the facilities offered. The buffet food was pretty basic - low quality, unimaginative, one evening the soup was inedible. Although we had a non-smoking room the corridor outside always smelt of cigarette smoke which got drawn into our room. Hotel gets very crowded with coach tours for the elderly, wedding receptions, conferences and other large group bookings.
The hotel is about 30 mins. From Leicester. The hotel grounds were beautiful. Housekeeping went above and beyond and did a load of clothes for me in a pinch. Quiet. Free wifi in rooms. The meidian age of the guests was about 90. I thought I was in a nursing home. No air condition. Hotel was outdated (70's). But all things considered. If your looking for a cheap, quite getaway outside of the city I would recommend this.
No tables available for dinner - a sign in reception when you arrive is not much help - you need to know that booking is necessary when you reserve your room. Staff have little knowledge of facilities, simple questions like the price of breakfast and the time of opening of the health club have to be referred to somebody else. No towels in the Health Club when we got there - "We ran out yesterday" isn't any comfort, and a wait for a table at breakfast along with 20 other guests finally clinched it - We won't be going there again.
Good location.Allocated room not good.Hot weekend and window opened onto noisy kitchen ventilation system so unable to open windows at night ,also window opened onto fire escape so window could not be left open during day.Would stop there again but would want say on room allocation.
Excellent value in a fantastic location. A lovely place to take a break. We will definitely return.
Beautiful, peaceful location, excellent sports facilities and good sized pool; restaurants also very good. Would definitely return.
hotel was reasonable value at your price, rooms are a bit tired. we had originally booked direct with hotel but cancelled when i found your price. hotel is definately not worth £100/night for room. while breakfast was being taken staff were cleaning and hoovering round you just what you don't need after a heavy night.
Beautiful surroundings and the level of service within the hotel did the hotel staff (from the kitchen porter to management ) proud.
