Getting there:Take the PORT exit from the motorway. At the traffic lights take the free left turn up Alten Road. Turn right at the lights into Anzac ave. Parliament street is the first street on the left. We are the fourth building on the right. We are opposite the High Court and next to middle Courtville apartment block. Our house has red window sills and a sandwich board by the gate. Our cast iron gate has a latch that you lift to push the gate open, then come to the door and PULL the door knob that is to the right of the door. There is a little sign saying as much; if you knock we won't hear you, so give the bell knob a good hard pull and it will ring and we'll greet you and let you in.
Check-in Procedure:Please ring to confirm if checking in within two hours of booking. Please NOTE that if you have an early flight and want to check-in early, your room may not available. Check in time is 4:00pm. Please provide booking voucher at check-in.

Must rank extremely highly as far as friendliness and helpfulness are concerned. Definitely a place to stay, especially if you want a change from the sterile uniformity of the big hotel chains.
I was very pleasantly surprised by many aspects of this beautifully restored home! The attention to detail was fantastic. I was made to feel very welcome and very much at home. I didn't believe it was possible to find such a warm, peaceful retreat so close to the city. I would highly recommend Braemar and look forward to staying there again.

My stay at Braemar On Parliament Street was exceptionally lovely. John welcomes all guests as if they were old friends. He makes us feel at home and is one of the nicest B & B hosts I have come across. This home, in the center of Auckland, feels like a country inn in English countryside. He has completely restored this beautiful old home, and actually saved it and the adjacent historic properties from developers who would have torn them down! The rooms are luxurious, and the bathtubs are the gloriously large antique models. The attention to detail is complete at this gem of a b&b. Breakfast is great...anything you want! The sound of the birds are all you hear out the window...in the middle of Auckland! I will definitely stay there again in the future.
Wonderful place to stay with great service.We were made to feel right at home.Nothing was any trouble to our hosts. All future trips to Auckland will include the Braemar as the first choice of accomodation.

Braemer is a beatifully restored and immaculately presented house. Sue and John are the most deligtful people and made us feel completely at home the whole time. The standard of the rooms, bed comfort, bathroom facilities, breakfasts and location are all 1st rate. We would reccomend Braemer to anyone.
What a lovely place. To be offered tea/coffee as soon as you arrive and to have this served in beautiful old china cups is such a nice touch. This place is obviously a labour of love. Susan and John are a charming couple and to find such a place in downtown Auckland, is a real gem.
What a lovely place to stay in the heart of Auckland city. While on our honeymoon my wife and I had the opportunity to spend two nights in this beautifully renovated Edwardian home and wish that we had more time to spend there. It was much more than we expected and Susan and John did a wonderful job of welcoming us to New Zealand. If you are looking for classy seclusion in the city then this is the place to be.
