From the emerald greens of the island's National Park, the azure blues of the surrounding waters, to its seven golden sandy beaches and colourful coral gardens just off shore, Brampton's style is vibrant and easy-going. It’s hard not to be captivated by the beauty of this classic Queensland island, lying at the southern entrance in the Whitsunday Islands passage, off Mackay. The magic begins from the moment you arrive, with a tropical drink and a welcoming smile. This island has a rhythm of its own as there are activities to enjoy at every imaginable tempo. From fast and fun like water skiing, sailboarding, snorkelling, catamaran sailing, guided jet-ski tours, chip and putt golf, tennis, archery and fishing, to a slower, more leisurely beat - relaxing by the pool with a cocktail, indulging in a pampering massage, or just doing nothing at all! Four grades of accommodation have views of either tropical gardens or the beach and ocean. All 106 rooms are well-appointed with private bathrooms, as well as a patio or verandah. Brampton Island truly offers a value-packed holiday. Children under the age of 12 are not catered for and there are no day-trippers to the Resort.

Getting there: Brampton Island is located 32 km north-east of Mackay. Regular flights are available from all Australian capital cities to Mackay daily, with Virgin Blue and Qantas. Alternatively, fly direct to Hamilton Island with Jetstar and transfer to Brampton Island on a scenic flight. Air Transfer Australasian Jet operate flights daily from Mackay to Brampton Island and from Hamilton Island to Brampton Island. Bookings are made through the property directly. The check-in desk is next to the Brampton Launch desk at the main airport at Mackay -adjacent to the Virgin Blue baggage carousel. Boat Transfer A courtesy coach departs Mackay Airport at 1.30pm to Mackay Marina. The boat transfer departs Mackay Marina at 2.00pm and arrives at Brampton Island at 3.00pm. The return trip from Brampton Island departs at 3.20pm and arrives at Mackay Airport (via the courtesy coach) at 5.40pm. Bookings are made through the property directly.

great location, plenty to do, interesting bird and animal life, great walks to see all aspects of the island, and Carlisle island accessible at low tide. We had a very relaxing stay and thought it excellent value for money with the total meal package.
Great location and nice resort but limited eating options (one restaurant) and food standard was very average.
Thourghly enjoyed the stay, would liked to have stayed longer but time did not permit. The service was excellant and unobtrusive, everything from your bags being delivered and picked up from your room, to the service whilst on the beach. The food was excellant and the menu modern. The resort was spotlessly clean, the gardens beautifully maintained, the activities were varied and plentiful, if you didn't want to do any that was alright too. The staff friendly,helpful and unfailing polite. I would recommend it to anyone that wanted a peaceful, relaxing stay where everything was taken care of and no request was a problem. I have already recomended it to a number of friends and colleagues.
The food was excellent - far better than expected. All of the staff were really friendly. It was an ideal location for honeymooners like ourselves.
Fantastic Food and plenty of it. Accommodation rather basic but clean and good enough[we stayed in an island view room] . A relaxed, unpretentious resort. All ages, mostly couples from their 20's right through to couples in their 70's. Staff always cheerful and keen to help. Would go back there again. Of all the guests we spoke to, none had a bad word to say about the place. Says it all really.
A little bit of touch up and proper finishing off will do this resort a lot of justice. Especially the rooms can be improved. Our room had a ceiling with a 'half baked' paint job. We paid for an Island view room, but faced a dry neglected part of a garden (Room 27) Food wise I cannot fault the hotel. Three meals every day was of good standard, always fresh and excellent variety. If the resort can change it's 1980's style architecture and decor...we would consider to go there again for another holiday.
