BreakFree Great Sandy Straits Hervey Bay

Great place to stay. Very large establishment right on the beach, but almost too many security gates. Had a most unfortunate experience at the restaurant across the road from the resort - Cafe Baleana. Food may have been good but after waiting an hour for our order we left.

We both found the Breakfree very good the room was excellent, the service was really good and it was close to the Boat club and the other food outlets on the boardwalk with a great view of the bay from our unit we would recommend this stay to all. Thank you we will return

I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and have always found it to be very good. This time i found that the cleanliness (mouldy shower curtains and mouldy grout) to be very off putting. I know the resort is getting on in age and could do with a little face lift. In saying this i would stay again because of the location, i will just take exit mould with me.

The unit had several faults. Drier not working, noisy fan in bedroom, microwave did not rotate.

It was quite with no traffic noise.The view over looking the water was very relaxing.The full moon was a bonus.Near by restaurants have a good selection of food and well priced and such a short walk to get there.

Great 1 bed room unit on the first floor with sea views from living room and bed room. Air conditioner worked well to cope with the heat during the day and a lovely sea breeze came up every afternoon.

This resort is getting on in age now and we found that it could do with some updating in the furnishings etc. The air conditioner cover on the balcony was rusty and took away from ambience when on the balcony. The cleaning wasn't good. There was dust and dirt behind the toilet and mould around the spa bath. The floors were dirty as my husband walked around without his shoes and the soles of his feet were black. The fridge was turned off when we arrived and my husband had to manhandle the micro wave oven out of its cupboard to turn it on. He commented that the micro wave was the heaviest he had ever lifted. The sheets and towels were very clean so no complaints there. We have a big plasma T.V at home and it was hard getting used to the little one in the lounge. Could they run to one on the wall in the bedroom please? The gardens were lovely and the view from our room was spectacular.

Great views and top location. Rooms need fumigating, the cockroahes were uninvited guests.

my wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the resort, when we wish to go away again on short notice, we will check the resort for available rooms.

A lovely spot right across from the beach. Just needed longer there!

The view looking out across the bay was spectacular. The grounds and gardens are very well groomed. Kitchen very well equipted - if you feel the need. Very good restaurants within walking distance. Right on the beach, no roads to cross. Just perfect really. I will be back.

6 of us from Bundaberg stayed at the bay.. The problem we found with the hole place was the BEDS were to HARD.. And the 40 stairs we had to walk..NO lifts.. The oldest member is 58.. But the veiws were fantastic..

Very nice place to stay, one bed room with bath spa was so great.... walk distance to beach and warm swimming pool.... room is clean and with everything we need for cooking... service was a little bit slow....but still ok

Was surprised there was no restaurant. Would stay here again if travelling to Hervey Bay. Was very happy with location.

The apartment was very nice, as was the location, but some of the basis were just not there. ie: no coat hangers for clothing, no frying pan or anything similar to even be able to cook a steak, yet it was supposed to be a fully equipped kitchen! Lights in 2 of the rooms didn't work. CD player didn't work. Both of the remote controls in the living room were broken. Also, although the property was very nice, as we arrived in Hervey Bay by plane and therefore didn't have a car, it was very difficult to get around the "resort" due to the strange layout. Even getting our luggage to our room (about a 400 metre walk from reception) was a drama!

Great unit, beds OK, contained everything we needed, brilliant location just could do with a proper clean had dust and fluff in second bedroom and bathroom vents and the spa wasn't working. Nether-the-less we had a really good stay.

Apartment was in need of a refurb but was neat and functional. Kids pool was brilliant as was location.

Very convenient to tours and shops and restaurants. The staff in reception were very helpful. Have stayed there before and would probably repeat if we return to Hervey Bay

perfect place to stay for us with two children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here- we even stayed an extra night- wished it could hve been longer

lovely resort, views were great, the units were lovely and clean and the location as far as getting to fraser island was right on the doorstep.
