we would stay at Brisbane Manor Hotel again and have told our friends how great our weekend was.
Very helpful staff and handy location to Brisbane. Good budget accommodation. The only negative that I could make on the place was the lack of parking. Would stay there again. Lots of pictures down hallways deplicting history of the area. The building has a lot of character.
The general atmosphere is friendly. The biggest difficulty is that there are no separate toilet/shower facilities for each room.
Manor Hotel is a unique historical hotel, priced to suit someone looking for a clean bed and hot shower Cooking facilities are excellent-shared. Mostly used by backpackers as they cater well for them and transport is close. Also good for cheap accomodation for Royal Bris Hospital patients and family. Limited parking but we have not had a problem there. Walking distance to Fortitude Valley trains and shops. This was our second visit.
Very nice hotel, quite basic but perfect for a night or 2
As someone on a budget and solo, this hotel suited me, but you do get what you pay for. You share unisex bathroom facilities, it's all very basic, but has nice touches like the roomy front terrace and private balcony. I could hear the couple next door's conversation and TV loudly, which was annoying. I also couldn't get my TV working on day 2. The cheap motel smell was overpowering. The slightly tropical feel of the place seemed at odds with the location, which is just off a very noisy part of town with heavy traffic. But you can easily walk to town or Fortitude Valley, or get the train/bus. Be aware check-in closes at 8. I made that mistake. Overall, though, should be more city hotels/hostels like this. Not everyone travels in twos.
The only gripe I have is the lack of any notice asking guests to keep TV's off and to keep quiet after 12:00 midnight. My first night the TV noise went on till 1:20 and the second, my very talkative neighbours went out at 10:30 and returned, one chattering like mad at 4:45 a.m. So I got little sleep either night. Alternatively there could be a master switch and the T.V.'s would not work after midnight. A very selfish woman kept her door open and the T.V. loud almost opposite my door from 5:00 a.m. I won't be going there again.
More like a hostel it may be, but the Brisbane Manor was a very pleasant home for a few nights. It is well situated, a 20 minute walk into the CBD. The double rooms are quirky, but clean and comfortable. There is a lovely seated area outside with a large TV, perfect for watching the tennis it was. The owner is an absolute gentleman. Only area that could be improved really was the internet, which was fairly tempermental while we stayed.
a good place to stay... prices are really good, close to the city and the staff was friendly. good value for money
A great place to stay if you were a backpacker. Cheap rooms, no cultery in rooms because of communal kitchen. Would like to see linen, cutlery and other necessities in room for those that would like to stay n the room. Would be happy to re-visit the Brisbane Manor.
Good motel/hotel location is 10 minutes walk to the Brunswick Strret shops/bars and teh train station you can then get into central in a few mins. Good alternative to being right in the city, nice verander to sit out on and enjoy a beer.
Unfortunately, I was placed in a room next door to the showers and I could hear the pipes and water gushing everytime anyone took a shower. The deck was a lovely place to chill out and it was not a long walk to the city center.
Hostel type of hotel. Communal rooms displays heavy wear. The rooms are very basic motel style rooms with tiled floors. Relatively quiet area but the other hotel guests very noisy, probably exacerbated by the lack of carpets. A permanent strong solvent type smell permeated the room. Good value for money for a short stay.
Everything was great just found a guest in the room above a little noisy ...would stay again just maybe a different room.
Great little location close to everything. We went down for riverfire and we will stay there again.Staff were very pleasant, and for the price it was excellent..Highly recommended !!
Very friendly staff. The Hotel is a spectacular Queenslander with wonderful charm. The facilities were great, & the price perfect for inner city location. Definately recommend this hotel.
Was more like a hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful
Dont expect too much and you will be fine, staff were friendly enough it is just the quality of some of the guests that let it down. Bit that is inevitable
