The hotel was in a great location and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and the hotel was nice and warm. Room was smaller than I expected as I booked a double room and expected two beds in the room as brought over my son Mark for a Liverpool match. Lifts were a bit temperamental! but overall we enjoyed the hotel.

the only critisism i can make about the adelphi is the standard of breakfast. buffet it may be but quality of the sausages abd bacon seem questional. just glad i did not pay full price for it! coffee seved at the table from a thermas flask and tased like it had been filtered through an old boot(far to strong)tea a better option if y6ou can attract the eye of the sreving girls.

Would have been an amazing hotel when first built but now it is quite old and it shows in the facilities (or lack there of). But it was clean and very well-priced and incredibly close to city centre and Lime St Station.

This hotel has 402 rooms (according to staff) and therefore difficult to maintain. Despite this the standard could be improved in the era of heavy competition. A coat of paint and carpet clean here and there would go a long way! Bathrooms in the bedrooms need to be updated and made cleaner. This hotel has a good location next to Lime Street train station. It is a good place to stay for the traveller. It does the job for a night but if looking for more than 3star there are many more hotels in Liverpool but they will cost more. Breakfast was good but very busy in the breakfast room. Staff were very friendly and I could only say good things about them from my experience. Over all I would stay here again if looking for a bed for the night when passing through or on a stag party, however if I was taking my partner to Liverpool I would go elsewhere.

Grand Old Hotel, we enjoyed our stay. Great location as not far from the railway station. Would go back.

Lovely old building in a central Liverpoool location that is unfortunately past itssell by date in terms of the rooms. Catering facilities also leave a lot to be desired. Hotel parking very expensive. However overall you get what you pay for!

Something of an experience - this amazing faded glory. Such a great location and so much a part of Liverpool's heritage that you can forgive the slightly 'frayed round the edges' feel. We would definitely stay here again.

Asked for non-smoking rm but got a (very smokey) room! It was nice (surprisingly large) but too stuffy!

This can become (again?) a *great* hotel, but it needs some investment and/or re-organisation. It is not too bad, but it lacks the clinical efficiency of HIE-type establishments. I think quality assurance in particular could be improved.

You get what you pay for. Very convenient for the city centre. Room had a view of the ventilation system outside. Beware the car parking charges. These seem arbitrary, and you are expected to leave your car keys. Check bill at departure as they has not taken off all my initial deposit. Having said all this, Liverpool itself is great to visit and there are a number of places to eat nearby and the shopping centre 'Liverpool One' has just opened. Take a trip across the Mersey on the ferry for a good view of the city and visit the Walker Gallery, just along from the hotel.

If you like the atmosphere of an old historical giant of a hotel then this place is absolutely a treat. With huge rooms, great old fashioned fittings, miles of corridors and tons of history you can easily imagine what it would have been like in its heyday. Now it is not run with the same high standards, but it is still a fun place to stay and worth the money. The bathrooms are particularly great and the staff very friendly.

we were upgraded to a jacuzzi suite following problems with the booking - the room was enormous and couldn't be faulted. The location is excellent, everything you could want within walking distance. We only had one complaint and the was the surliness of the staff, not a smile or welcoming greeting amongst them.
