Britannia Airport Hotel Manchester

Positives: 1. Hotel really easy to find and is in a great location (10 minutes drive away from Old Trafford). 2. Secure parking at no extra charge. 3. Friendly and warm welcome. 4. Rooms were clean and the shower was brilliant. 5. Breakfast in the morning was good with a variety of choices. No negatives, but perhaps improvements needed: 1. Wi-Fi signal in room was non-existent 2. Would have liked Sky in the bar area. However, the free view in the be and room was still quite good. 3. The pool table and other amusements didn't seem to work. I would definitely stay here again!

Obviously not in the 5* bracket but we wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to stay for three nights. The decor is tired but we don't mind that. We liked the ambiance, and the low-priced, extensive hot and cold buffet breakfast has to be unbeatable. Best value for a night that we know - and we got cashback too.

The hotel was decent overall. My two main issues with it was the lack of house cleaning. We asked the front desk to freshen up the room but they never came. The other issue was ho far it is from downtown Manchester. Its accessible I guess. If you take the number 41 bus it will take you to picadilly. But do not try to walk there by yourself. It is freaking far. It took 25 to 30 min on the bus. The other thing that i just cannot stand about some hotels, No wifi in the room. They have it in the lobby which is sufficient but god, why? Nice place to stay if you are on a budget, just make sure to calculate the 3- 5.40 pounds you will be spending everyday to be getting to the center and back to the hotel.

We booked in for four days then saw some bad reviews, as such we arrived with a lot of doubt about our stay. Although the hotel is looking somewhat tired and in need of renovation, this was more than made up for by the excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble for these people. The bar staff especially made us feel so welcome we were sorry to leave. Don't always trust bad reviews, some people are very fussy and want 5 star treatment for 2 star prices. Well done to the staff at the Britania Hotel and we look forward to staying with you again.

Airport shuttle convenient.

A good modern room in a hotel with good facilities. Parts of the hotel need updating but at the price this was a good stay.

Nowhere near as bad as others might have you believe. Apart from a delay at check-in ("you can't check in until 1pm"), we had a great stay. Accommodation was standard Posthouse-style: clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Decor and carpets were both a bit tired in the public areas of the hotel, but this isn't a major factor for us. Breakfast was average, nothing special, but all in all we thought the hotel represented excellent value-for-money and I'd recommend it as a decent enough budget hotel.

We only stayed for one night prior to an early morning flight, so didn't really get the oppotunity to take advantage of any of the facilities except those in our room, which were more than adequate. I would certainly stay again and have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others.

I'll visit it again...

Garaging was particularly useful.

Stayed in room 724 and the toilet was not secured to the floor and the cistern overflow was running constantly into the bath. For a hotel so close to the Airport it should have wireless internet available in this current age given the types of people staying in the hotel.

Furniture and public areas are seedy and worn but clean. The airport bus did not show up and after waiting an hour I had to take a taxi. The return bus trip takes overly long because the bus first goes to another Britannia hotel and then returns past the Airport Britannia but without stopping to pick up passangers. Even under the best circumstances the bus only goes once per hour.

Basic accommodation which is clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent.

I needed a Hotel quickly and near Manchester Airport, I booked and paid online four hours before I arrived, the staff were friendly and efficient on my arrival, I requested an early call at 5 am this got me up and off to the airport in plenty of time, this hotel was tidy, efficient and great value.

Took ages to check in. Couldn't find the reservation. Foreign staff experienced difficulites. Only one lift working which resulted in delays in getting to and from room. Gennerally the hotel looks very shabby and worn out. Bathrooms need attention as something seems to be growing around the bath sealant. No cold white wine at the bar(offered to put ice cubes in the wine glass to cool it down!!) Only good point was free shuttle bus to airport and complimentary car parking.
