Arrived at 9am after an overnight flight from Boston. Staff was nice enough to let us check in very early and clean up. Room was good size and clean. Bar was full and fun on Saturday night. 3am wake up call came right on time. Restaurant food was good. Will definitely stay again.
One must book to the shuttle to the hotel day before using it - how can you do this if you come outside UK? I phoned the hotel from the airport and they sent me "shuttle" which cost me 10 GBP after waiting an hour - I'd better take the bus! Location is very good, about 20 min on bus from center of Manchester. Room is clean and comfortable, but the room service waked me up every day at 8 am to clean! WiFi - "free", but don't work in rooms, sometimes doesn't work in lobby too, even though I asked them to fix it for 2 days! Fitness costs 4 GBP per entry. Overall - good to stay 1-2 nights, not more, just to sleep & go, Not for businessmen, because wifi is lausy.
Stayed at the Brittania Country House for the first time, we drove from London for my dad's surprise 70th birthday. On arrival we were really impressed, the standards were excellant, staff very polite and helpful, rooms very nice good size and. We also made use of the spa facilities. Will definitely be going back.
I stayed in room 460 I booked a family room. The room inside was not big enough. Jacuzzi does not works. The most annoying thing was this horrible stair ramp inside the room which cuts the room into half and is so low that me and my partner got hit by it several times when trying to go near the table for dinning. Room is dull left side lamp was not working. The bed mattress is inclined downward on the right hand side my partner kept on slipping off it and where do I plug in my phone charger and laptop for work. NOT good experience.
We received baked potato's that had been kept warm for several days. The skin was old and wrinkled, the inside of the skin was was a black charred colour and it tasted foul. Even the waitress said she wouldn't eat it. When i made my complaint to the duty manager i noticed 2 girls making a complaint as well. There were no problems any where else, i will not be using that hotel again.
Good hotel to stay at if travelling to Manchester United football matches
We had a triple room which had three single beds for the same price as a twin, the room was clean, the bathroom was clean there were enough clean towels and toiletries. it had tea making facilities. The hotel is being refurbished but this did not cause any inconvenience. It had a transfer facility to the airport I would stay here again and recommend it others.
Very limited evening meal menu.
Pleasent enough place, good value for the money we paid and large jacuzzi bath in room was a bonus!
the decorating needs to be upated.
Fine a stop over, one night but not longer.
My wife enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The hotel has more than adequate facilities and friendly, helpful staff.
We have never stayed in Manchester before but we are thinking of going back. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The only complaint is we couldn't stay longer!
Unfortunately, the hotel ran out of towels on Mon 22/9 due to failure by laundry . This was unpleasant as the 3 of us in Room 178 had to beg for face towels on Tues morning. I dont mind being short of shampoo or hand tissues but not something as basic as towels. Your hotel is excellent otherwise and hopefully this incident doesnt deter me from returning in future.
