Britannia Roundhouse Hotel-Bournemouth

We booked this hotel through rates to go for a one night stay in bournemouth as we were out for the evening for a 40th birthday. when we got there we paid for our room and was told our room number which was easy to find. We were very surprised at the room that was given to us we had a family room with a double bedroom and another room off of this with a dining table and sofa and a bed in. we were surprised to be given a masive bathroom which had a jacuzzi bath which was amazing. this was more like a mini flat of our own. I could not fault this hotel it is very central to everything and the staff are always happy to help. i would recommend this hotel

When we arrived the hotel did not have our booking - not their fault - and did manage to find us a room but the facilities were a little 'tired' and needed refurbishment. Whilst the staff did sort our booking dilemma they were reluctant to do so and needed to be a bit more cheerful. A smile goes a long way.

a very basic room, had seen better days but would have to say the service from the staff was very good apart from the new girl on the desk, why employ people who dont know the area, cant speak english and dont know how to to work the till or give a recipt... oh yes they can smile!

This Hotel urgently requires a refurbishment. The rooms are noisy Plumbing noisy Rain poured in through the window frames and made a waterfall on the inside window cill These things were all reported to reception but appeared to land on geaf ears

The hotel rooms need a good re-fit. The bathroom was full of rust looking stuff around the bath and toilet. The bed was uncomfortable as you could feel the springs. The light shades were dusty and in need of new ones. The whole hotel could do with a new lick of paint

The hotel is obviously in need of a face-lift, as it is rather runned down ! However, they compensate with their good front desk service and decent food at the restaurant ( both breakfast and dinner ). It is about 10 mins. walking distance to the pier and park, and there's ample multi-storey parking space at the hotel. Price-wise, would rate as average, since the rooms are small, and with windows opened during summer, the traffic noise does come through ! Would recommend not to stay more than 1 night, if modern comforts is your priority.

We took advantage of the dinner buffet but were cross to be charged £10.95 instead of the advertised £8.50. Apparently the lower price is for two courses but at no point were we advised of this and there was no mention of it in the extensive advertising.

My only complaint would be that I paid for a superior room with a jacuzzi bath, which did not work

It had recently had had a refurbishment since my partner last stayed there and looked much better. The room itself was nice (if a little small) however the bathroom was in desperate need of updating. All in all not bad for the price however.

Although the hotel was showing its age and needed some decorations renewing, it was comfortable and clean. Although situated on a busy roundabout the double glazing worked well and it was quiet in the room when the windows were shut.

Perfect location for visiting the city of Bournemouth.

Pleasant helpful staff. Good car parking. Good restaurant. Overall makeover/modernisation needed.

It was a short stay for one night of a family with two children. The kids loved it, the room was clean and convenient in a basic way. If we'll have to visit Bournemouth again this would be a prefered option.
