The room was very nice and the breakfast was lovely, the only problem that we found with the hotel was the fan in the bathroom was very noisy when we turned the bathroom light on
VERY HANDY FOR CHESTER CITY CENTRE BUT FAR AWAY ENOUGH FOR A RELAXING STAY.BIT UNDER STAFFED BUT VERY PLEASENT.FACILITIES VERY GOOD.
The hotel was too warm! The heating was too high in the rooms and in the bar/restaurant, making time spent in the hotel uncomfortable.
We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. The facilities were good, staff friendly and location convenient to exploring Chester.
Didn't look much from the front but was very good.
The facilities were excellent, bar area and dining room very good the bedroom we stayed was in need of a update, but it was very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful we ate there one evening and the food was very good and the breakfast was excellent a good range of foods for everyone.
The restaurant was fully booked so we had to go out for a meal. We were offered a bar meal or room service but didn't want either. The pool was cold. There seemed to be a lack of staff at bars and reception although when there they were extremely polite and well trained. Very well located for Chester Zoo which is where we went the day after our stay. Good 3* hotel. Room was okay but old. Had seperate area with bunk beds for kids which was good. Would stay again.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay - pool/jacuzzi fine. Pity it was too cold to enjoy the gardens! if we had any criticism it would be that breakfast was good, but the service a little disorganised
Lovely hotel with scenic gardens and good facilities ie: pool/ gym/ jacuzzi etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the only negative. Very dry as was left out buffet style. Overall excellent stay and would re-visit.
very nice hotel, good facilities, pool and gym.Grounds were superb, great place to go in spring.Rooms were clean and comfy.
the restaurant is overpriced and the food is not that exciting. Breakfast was not hot, only warm, and not to a 4-star standard.
This hotel appears to have changed hands and am uncertain as to who now runs it as adverts recently in newspapers for Corus Hotels list it but the documentation throughout the hotel was in a different name. despite some recent reviews we found the hotel clean and tidy albeit a bit frayed around the edges but definitely not a"Dump", the staff were most helpful and rapidly rearranged rooms to accommodate us in a room accessible to two with dodgy hips who cant easily climb stairs. There is only 1 very small lift in the "New" part and this lift needs a service! but it worked. Breakfast service and buffet content were vey good but went to a pub for dinner as 3 could dine for the price of 1 main course at the MollyB - restaurant is rather expensive!
There was an electrical fire in an adjacent room, and we had to leave the hotel at midnight, i was allocated a new room, but did not get to bed until 0300, giving me approx 3 1/2 hours sleep. The hotel refused to pay any compensation and charged full room rate for this night, dispite assurances no one from the hotel phoned me to discuss this matter. I will not stay there again
Staff very friendly and most helpful.
