Buchanan Hotel Glasgow Guest Reviews

4.4 out of 5

Perfectly situated for Bus and Train stations. Very cheerful, helpful staff, lovely comfy bed and an excellent breakfast. Unfortunately I was overlooking a derilict building, and I couldn't manage to work the shower!!! (so relaxed in a lovely hot bath instead) - such bliss! Would definintely recommend this hotel to others, and will certainly return on my next trip to Glasgow.

Excellent location and a nice, clean room. I get carpet everywhere (even on the walls of the elveator) can´t be avoided in any British hotel... :0) I´m surprised you can get such good accomodation at this price range!

The Buchanan Hotel staff members were polite, friendly and efficient.I very much appreciated the efforts of the receptionist, Amanda, in helping me solve my suitcase problems. She took pains to contact the airport and, thanks to her,all was well eventually. My recently redecorated room was clean and comfortable. The connecting door to the adjoining room, made it less than soundproof. Around 2a.m.each night,a group could be heard screaming and shouting on the street.I felt that police intervention would have been appreciated by the hotel's visitors. The Buchanan needs much renovation and refurbishing. It is unfortunate that it is in such a rundown condition. I noticed that the staff were less in need of speech training than their counterparts at the [other hotel], Glasgow airport.

The staff are friendly & very helpful. The location is excellent set in one of Glasgows main shopping areas & about 5 minutes walk from Buchannan Street bus station which has a direct bus link to Glasgow International Airport. The only downside from my point of view was the fact that the rooms were in need of refurbishment. The self serve breakfast was also vey good.Overall i would recommend the hotel & i will return there in the future.

Dingy and very old fashioned. Needs total decoration. Very noisy because of subway.

The people working at the desk were often difficult to work with and did not seem very flexible or interested in helping us with different issues. The billing process at the hotel was also complicated once we got there and again the customer service was not incredibly fantastic. The inside of the rooms were also not incredibly nice. We had expected something a little newer and nicer inside.

This hotel is basic and quite old fashioned. It was fine for 1 night and I was only in the room to sleep. I would not use this for more than one night although it is very central and fine for using as a base.

Excellent location close to shopping, train and bus stations and night life. It was a bit noisy, mostly due to some loud neighbours, but when I complained, I was quickly given another room. Would use it again but would request a quieter room away from the main street.

An easy 5 minute walk from the bus station and only a minute walk to the train station. Right in the middle of the city in a pedestrian mall so no street traffic. Close to shops, restaurants and bars. Good breakfast.

Efficient, friendly, no-frills. Arguably the best location in Glasgow, between the two central railway stations

I was extremely disappointed with the bed, it was as if the mattrass was made of cement and the bedhead was broken and moved when I moved. The room was relatively clean but the staircases and carpets outside the rooms were dirty. I won't stay again.

A good choice if the main thing you are after is location- a step away from the metro station and only a few more to large shopping centres. Rather spacious room and a nice bathroom, if you don't mind the marble laminate that maks you feel like you're encased in a block of stone. Everything else is pretty average. The place is not especially inspiring or clean, our window looked out onto a dodgy carpark, and strangely we had to leave our keys at reception when we left the building.
