Although parts of this hotel are a touch shabby such as the corridors, this hotel has clean rooms, good food and good service, its location for Harrogate is excellent about five minutes walk.
The staff were very welcoming and the room was standard but clean and comfortable. There was a large selection of food available at breakfast, however it couldve been warmer. I would stay there again though.
I was very happy with this hotel. The location was excellent, just a five minute walk down a well lit main road to the centre of Harrogate, and as I was on my own it was ideal. The single room that I had was also excellent. A good size with a large bathroom and very quiet. I would definitely use this hotel again.
Fantastic hotel, full of character and history. Great location as well, within walking distance of the centre of Harrogate. Well recommended.
v/good hotel ,close to town centre would stay there again
Staff are very courteous and helpful. The recent works on a lift shaft were kept to minimum disruption. I found it a very pleasant stay and the restaurant meals were very nice.
excellent hotel
Excellent value for money and good location
Nice hotel. Only 5 min walk into Harrogate. Ideal location for exploring North Yorkshire,
I was nervous about staying here as I only paid £35 B&B for a hotel near the center of Harrogate but was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, reasonable size, ensuite and the breakfast excellent. The hotel is dated but I would definitely stop here again for anything under £60.
The hotel is being refurbished at the moment however we did not find this a problem. We found the staff to be very helpfull, efficient and friendly they have obviously been well trained. The buffet breakfast was very good and freshly cooked items came very quickly.A very nice stay at a very reasonable price.
very well situated for harrogate town just 2 min walk hotel has large parking facility. the room we had was really large needed redecorating but very clean and had a large newly renovated bathroom excellent! tea and coffee making facilities were in the room and a tv. we used the hotel bar and found the staff all very helpful and friendly. the breakfast was excellent too with a wide variety to chose from and helpful staff nothing too much trouble. we would recommend to our friends and family as we enjoyed our trip to harrogate and would now consider returning.
Excellent accommodation and service. A very pleasant stay. I would not have any hesitation about recommending the Cairn Hotel.
The hotel was good and the (first floor) double room was clean and quiet. If I had to quibble, the room was very small and there was no view at all as the window looked out onto a roof. It's ideal for the exhibition centre - a few minute's walk? - although you then have to walk past the exhibition centre into the town proper for evening entertainment. However, I'd say it's absolutely fine for a short stay.
Very pleasant staff, nice and clean. Food was good and the current refurbishments didn't cause any problems whatsoever A*
Extremely helpful staff, will have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others.
Very elegant hotel with large rooms and pleasent surroundings. If I am in the area I will come again.
The room was good, clean and service was also good. However, although I requested a non-smoking room, and got it, the lobby and all the furniture therein reeked of stale tobacco smoke, as did the bar area. It was the first noticeable thing upon entering the hotel. After sitting in the bar in the evening, my clothes then smelled of it. Also the carpets had shrunk/were ill-fitting and stuck together with carpet tape across the joins, both in the bar area and the corridors upstairs.
This hotel is in need of a major refurbishment. If this is completed it would increase its star rating dramaticaly.
Very impressive from the outside. The corridor to the room was in need of refurbishment as was the room.
