Cairns City Backpackers is small, quiet and friendly, but we are a Backpackers Hostel and not a hotel. We are located in a quiet backstreet just a 5 minute walk to Cairns central shopping centre, and a 15 minutes walk to City Place.

Cairns City Backpackers has a tropical, fully landscaped garden which includes hundreds of palm trees, a small but cute swimming pool and lots of hammocks for you to chill out in!
Naturally there is a TV and DVD area, a billiard table, and cheap internet with 24 hour access, and bring your laptops because we have wireless!

Getting there:
If you are coming in your own car we can be found at 274 Draper Street directly behind Cairns Central shopping centre.
We do not have our own bus but there is a shuttle bus from the airport which costs $5 a person from the airport. This is a special discounted price given to guests of our hostel. To get this price you need to pre-book the shuttle bus on the this Cairns Airport Shuttle Bus Website http://www.cairnsairportshuttle.com.au/v2/arrivals.php
Select 'Cairns City Backpackers' as your hotel destination and you will be given the special price of $5 a person. If you have booked the shuttle bus and it is more than 15 minutes late, please call Don from Cairns Airport Shuttle on 0432-488783.
A taxi will cost you about $22 from the airport .
From the bus terminals we are about a $10 taxi ride or 30 minutes walk. From the greyhound terminal, just go straight down Spence Street , turn right into Draper Street and follow until you get to the hostel.
Check-in Procedure:
We provide a 24 hour check-in service but you need to let us know in advance if you are going to arrive outside of reception hours so we can organize your key. Our reception is open from 7:30 am till noon, and between 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
Car parking:
On street parking is available for free.
Child Policy:
Children 5 years and over are accepted. Parents are responsible for their child's safety.
