Getting there:Cairns Reef Apartments & Motel is approx. 6klms from the City Centre, 12klms from the Airport. The property is located south west from the city centre on the service road running parallel to the Bruce Highway - adjacent to Rigg Street and opposite the intersection of Bruce Highway & Ray Jones Drive. 500 metres south of the Woree Tavern and 500 metres north of McDonalds Cafe.

These apartments are fully self contained with all the modern conveniences of your own home. The large kitchen includes a microwave oven and enough cutlery and cutlery to cater for up to four guests. The tables and chairs in the adjacent dining area make a relaxing area for a casual meal. Hairdryers are available from Reception + free in house movies.
The two bedroom apartments are spacious covering 89 square metres. They have been designed with an adjoining door to the second bedroom which has its own TV and bathroom. This additional bedroom is completely separate from the main living room area offering total privacy to occupants. The second bedroom in the two bedroom apartment has its own key making this configuration an ideal option for couples and friends travelling together but who also desire their own personal space. The second bedroom can have either a queen bed or two single beds. Several of the second bedrooms even have three single beds. Hairdryers are available from Reception and free in house movies are direct to all rooms.
Don't expect to get any sleep. Walls are very thin and other people TVs / chatting / partying echo through. On the whole a cheap Motel, but the noise from all sides was unreal.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Since it is quite a distance from the center of town where all the activities and restaurants are located, stay here only if you have a car at your disposal. The people are very helpful and can book most of the tours at short notice.
We arrived after hours and it was no problem at all, very nice room.
I really enjoyed the stay. The owners were very helpful. Location was quite good and right on a bus route. Pick-ups available for tours. I would certainly stay at this location again.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts - we weren't staying for very long, and needed to organise all the activities we were keen on, in the short time at our disposal. The wonderful hosts went out of their way to help us. Not very close to the city centre, but then that need not be a concern for people with cars - and most tours/activities anyway have pickups from where one is staying. The rooms are well-equipped, and the rates are very reasonable.
Although this is away from most activities it's location makes it easy and fast to reach the Esplanade where so many businesses and activities are located.
Very friendly, helpful managers, who went out of their way to organise suitable trips etc. for us. Would certainly go there again, and recommend it to friends because it is such a nice place.

The owners were super great in helping us make arrangements for tours and getting a car rental.
We found that our choice proved to be a winner! Very comfortable room, very nice pool area. Within walking distance to shopping centre and bus stop outside entrance for local bus to main centre of Carins, about a 15 minute journey. We would certainly look at using the Cairns Reef Apartments on our next visit to Cairns.
Excellent hotel which extremely helpful owner who shared his well known knowledge about which trips to book, and what to do. Rooms were lovely. Thoroughly recommended.
We had a wonderful stay at the Cairns Reef Apartments and Motel. The owners were very helpful and provided suggestions regarding tours in the Cairns area.
Very helpful and friendly hosts. Some consider to far from the heart of Cairns, but we had no problems as Bus stopped right at the front of Apartments. Would definately stay there again.
