Camden Lock Hotel London Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

My husband and I stayed here October 4-7, 2011 as the last leg of our 3-week European adventure so we had stayed in a lot of hotels at this point. The location worked out great for us, it was minutes from the Chalk Farm exit on the Northern line of the tube. We were able to walk to restaurants and the Camden Markets which we enjoyed. It was about a 20 minute tube ride to get to where the London and Tower Bridges are and the tube was clean and easy to use. This hotel is older and the bathroom is extremely small but we were there to see London not our hotel room so it worked out great. It was cool while we were there so we didn't need the window in our room open a lot which was good because it was a bit loud with the window open as our room was facing the street.

4.4 out of 5

Perfect location for a stay in Camden - and London in general since the Chalk Farm tube station is just across the street of the hotel. Nice breakfast in the café.

stayed there the night that I went to see a gig at the Roundhouse - and for that the location literally just across the road is absolutely unbeatable. It's also good for the Camden markets hustle and bustle, and the underground station round the corner links the place to the rest of London. It's a cheap deal for London - and you get what you pay for in this context, i.e. not much beyond a place to crash safely. Internet didn't work, facilities are sparse (but just about sufficient), the room small and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. But OK for a night or two if you don't mind making do with just basic comfort.

great for a budget hotel. Room 204 is big, double bed, excellent bathroom. clean, wireless/dsl internet available without fee. it does face a pub on the side street, but it closes around midnight

It was perfect as a base for a trip round Camden. Everything was clean and presentable but you didn't want to spend all day in your room. I did think it was a little expensive for what you got, however I expect this is justifiable in this area. We didn't have breakfast as I didn't really fancy the idea of eating in the reception room but it looked and smelt pretty good.

The room at the back is reasonably quiet and very spacious. I enjoyed my stay. There is no lift in the hotel. But staff can be helpful enough to help you carry it to upstairs.

well if you are looking to shop in Camden stalls you will need a base camp quite close and this hotel offers just that, shops and pubs next door the room was tidy and clean, the staff friendly maybe someone more used to hotel rooms could find things to mention but for me it was exectly what I needed for the week end.

This is a cheap hotel so expect a cheap hotel. i.e you get a bed & shower & basic facilities (dont expect a mini bar/sky etc!) its clean & perfect location for the Roundhouse as you're pretty much opposite it. Right next to Camden high steet as well so loads of places to eat etc etc. Dont expect an amazing breakfast but it fills a hole and is included so you might as well eat it! Price and location you cant beat -the receptionist was also very helpful.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The corridors seemed slightly dingy but rooms are obviously being upgraded so I'm sure it'll all look much better soon.

the hotel was clean and tidy but the carpets were looking dated also the there is a nightclub next it, it is close to an underground which i found was convenient, also close was a supermarket,so if you forgot anything you can get it there.
