Campanile Hotel Birmingham Guest Reviews

3.2 out of 5

Hotel was generally clean and tidy. Heating worked well and was well needed. Unfortunately the fan in the bathroom did not work - asked recetion and they said non of the fans in entire hotel worked. Restaurant had good selection of food inc. vegetarian. Must say the rooms do need an update - carpets need changing and rooms need a good paint. Staff friendly, was initaillay overcharged but was rectified when pointed out within seconds. All the staff are friendly. We paid £52 no breky for 1 night for 2 adults, but i think it should be £35 as we paid £35 last year to stay in ramada jarvis and had a full buffet english/veg. breky. Personally think price is too much for something very basic

4 out of 5

The hotel was a fair distance from the city centre but the staff were friendly and the room was relatively cheap.

The hotel is very convenient for Aston University, and is easy to get to from the hotel. On arrival, the reception staff were helpful and explanotory about all aspects of my stay. There is ample car parking, with the gates being locked at 11pm is re-assuring that your car is safe for the night. The rooms were clean and bedding was spotless, the desk area included 2 chairs which was very useful. Having a bistro and bar in the hotel is very handy and the buffet breakfast was excellent.

Perhaps the decor is just a bit worn now in some of the rooms but it still represents good value for Birmingham and in easy reach of the centre. The buffet breakfast is generous and tasty. Weekend parking is easy but a bit of a problem on weekdays if the hotel's meeting facilities are in use.

My first English experience of Campanile, though I have used them all over France for years when on the move. The cosmopolitan staff more open and friendly (but not 'overly' so)in their approach than I expected for a chain. They were also very helpful to a visitor in a strange city. Keep it up!

The staff were very friendly & welcoming. My only criticism would be the restricted menu, especially as I do not eat meat.

Third stay at this hotel, good location for central Birmingham, only a couple of minutes by Taxi or Car. Very friendly staff and great value for money. Try the Chinese restaurants nearby at the Wing Yip centre !!

The coffee was not good! The service was very hit and miss, but it was New Years Day so the hotel was very quiet. Would go again though as it was good value and the rooms themselves were fine.
