In general the hotel was what we expected having used Camponile in France. The only criticism we have relates to the food. In the evening we went for the 3 course, which included the hors d*oevres and dessert buffets. The starter buffet was available, but we were not told that the dessert buffet was not. My wife was happy with her main course, but the mussels I had left a bit to be desired. Most of the mussels were very small and there were quite a number of them were closed.
This would not have been my first choice for hotels in Manchester, however we booked this hotel after finding it difficult to get a decent priced hotel in the city centre. Lots of free parking spaces, reception staff pleasent and welcoming. It is a basic hotel - i.e. small rooms with adjoing bathroom with a decent enough shower. Walls are fairly thin so prepared to hear some noise. The decor and fittings look a little tired and could do with a refurb. There is a kettle with sachets of tea and coffee which you dont always expect to see at cut price hotels. You can walk into the City Centre within 15 minutes. There is a JS, McD's and KFC opposite the hotel. So overall the hotel was satisfactory for an overnight stay but don't expect modern, new decor or luxurious comfort.
I only stayed 1 nite but found it a very pleasant experience . Staying slightly out of the city centre meant free parking and internet an added bonus we walked into the centre of Manchester very easily enjoyed a lovely meal and a few drinks then got a taxi back in the wee hours ! The only downside was there was a bit of noise in the morning !!! Would def. stat again
We've stayed at this hotel before without issue, but unfortunately this time around somebody had decided that leaf blowing needed doing at 5.30am in the morning! This continued for a solid 2 hours, keeping up awake & resulting in an awful nights sleep.
We picked this hotel because it had secure free parking. It was walking distance to City Centre. Breakfast was good. Reception organised a taxi for us. Very close to Sainsbury's, TK Max, Boots and petrol station (and McDonalds). Need brighter lighting and/or desk lamp.
The staff were very helpful and all spoke English which makes a change for a hotel! The only problem we had was some noisy guests on our corridor and unfortunately with reception being in another building I don't think anyone was aware of the disruption they were causing! Also would be good if the bar stayed open a bit later.
Would have preferred 2 rooms together but, for the amount of time we were there, it didn't really affect our stay too much.
Good clean basic accommodation, secure carparking, staff very efficient - excellent value
This is a basic but comfortable hotel - no frills and no fuss. I got a decent enough deal on this occasion, paying about 40.00, but the rack-rate of 50-something GBP is overpriced.
We enjoyed our stay. Very pleasant, effiecient and helpful staff. Nothing negative to say at all. Would definately recommend the hotel and stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Excellent breakfast. Room basic, but clean and practical. Restaurant is limited in menu choice. Not many guests use the restaurant in the evenings. The hotel is situated on a retail park, with a Sainbury supermarket, KFC and Macdonalds within a 5 minute walk. It you feel lucky there is a casino across the road as well. A bus stop near by goes to Piccadilly Gardens and the trip will cost you £1.50.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night when we attended the Ricky Hatton fight in the City of Manchester Stadium. Hotel was excellent, staf could not do enough for you, best was very comfy, tea and coffee avaioable and excellent secure car parking. Would highly recommend it!
Really pleasant, helpful and friendly staff. A pleasure to stay there.
the bar could have been better stocked, no bottles of budweiser on friday night yet they had them on saturday night i doubt that there would have been a delivery on the saturday also my mixer varied from a 330ml bottle of coke to being poured from a 2 ltr bottle which was flat this depended on who served. breakfast had a good choice although the cooked breakfast could have been warmer. room was excellent it was just the rest that let it down but then that accounts for staff training in hospitality
Good, clean, comfortable hotel. Breakfast a bit chaotic due to slow clearing of tables, very good once seated but pity the 30 or so queuing up after we had finished ours.
Good service and help on e-mail before we arrived!
very friendly staff. Food in restuarant good. Not on free bus route. About a £7.00 taxi ride from Piccadilly Rail Station
I stayed here for one night as I was going to watch Manchester United play. I normally stay in the city centre. This hotel is located mid way between the centre & Old Trafford. It was a 20 minute walk to OT. I paid £70 for a twin room with breakfast which was good value. I would stay here again.
Easy enough to find with all the facilities required for a short stay. I used both te bar and restaurant and found the quality to be very good. Only complaint would be that the bath in my room was too small. I have already recommended to my colleagues.
Very good value for money. close to city, good breakfast, clean and tidy and very friendly.
