Canberra City Gateway Motel

Would definitely stay there again.

The staff and food were all good,and while I understand the place is being redone it was a shock at first, the hotel should list the fact that it is being done up.the carpets looked like they had been down for 30 years , the shower head leaked more than was coming out of the nozzle, but at least the bathroom was clean. To be fair I would like to see the finished product somewhere done the line.

The hotel was badly in need of repair on the external, however, and the hotel itself requires renovation,the linen and room was clean. My only real hate was the mildew in the grouting of the shower.

The motel overall is very run down and desperately in need of a major facelift. The swimming pool was green up one end and filled in with dirt up the other. The room was very clean and comfortable.

This was a last minute booking, the Staff were exceedingly friendly, the room was very basic, but was everything that we needed for the 2 nights we were there. Also there was no other accommodation vacant in the area at that time.

Customer service was great.

Quite run down in appearance from the outside and foyer. Very old and tired. Needs a refurbish badly. However, service friendly and the room clean.

The staff were very friendly and approachable. This made it easy to ask different questions

the picture on the tv was terrible on all bar 1 chanel. the shower leaked outside the bathroom. the tap in the bathyroom dripped all night. at 3am someone opened my room from outside with a key. need i say more.

This motel is being neglected and looks ready for demolition. It has deteriorated since my previous stay 4 years ago. Breakfast is the only meal served. Staff were friendly and helpful. I doubt that it deserves 3 1/2 stars.

Motel was in need of update and maintenance. We stayed 2 nights and no-one came near our room to clean, service or replace towels. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Pleasant Motel a few Km out of town. The area is still suffering from the drought but the staff were pleased to see us and provide assistance and information

Not a bad location 5 minutes to the city centre on the bus Handy to bus top Staff are helpful-beds were terrible & old-not comfortable Did mention on the way out to reception

I stayed there overnight this week as I had a consulting job in Canberra. As abaove the motel was okay but the breakfast (tomatoes and mushrooms) were not availableas I was told they had not arrived. Otherwise no other criticisms.

It's a motel so one should not expect too much. The advertisement for the hotel mentioned wireless Internet access but to get that you had to sit in the reception area with the laptop/mobile phone on the lap - the wireless would not carry to guest rooms. Value was OK if booked cheaply, but not worth the AUD 160.00 asked for as full price.

Great location, handy to city and many restaurants but tired old motel. Beds are a real shocker. Seems to attract noisy clientele

Comfortable stay. Quiet and pleasantly warm room. Off street parking good. Nice breakfast and good value accomodation. I would be happy to stay there again.
