Canberra Rex Hotel

Paid $160: TV was analogue with reception only decent on 2 stations: have stated at cheaper places in Canberra with digital TVs. Breakfast buffet looked good, but food was luke warm (prob not within food safety guidelines) and coffee was tepid. Staff response was lacklustre - reception just told me that last time they got a coffee it was really hot, that didn't help me!

They are doing renovations and this is a great location and price. The beds are great and nice linen but the bathroom and shower needs work. Overall I would stay here again.

rooms spacious and clean exceptionally friendly ,helpful staff , great breakfast selection , will stay at Rex hotels again , managment very informative about the hotel history ,as well as assisting us with Canberra locations and transport.

This Hotel is comfortable but old style and could do with some modernising in the rooms.

Very quiet in the rooms considering it is on Northbourne Avenue. Easy access to the driveway for entry to the motel plenty of onsite parking. Very helpful and friendly staff and the meals in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner were very nice and reasonably priced.

Enjoyed my stay excellent would recommend it to my friends very happy

Reception friendly & welcoming. Dinner service a bit slow but we had an excellent "special" dinner with plenty of choice. Hope prices dont go up after refurbishing By the way,why are tomato & BBQ sauce with the fruit & muesli at breakfast ?

Get what you paid for. It's cheap and okay. Recommend staying for those on a budget otherwise stay elsewhere., Not far from city central and easy walk to most sights.

We stayed at Rex 9/11 January 2011. we found the hotel very good with friendly staff excellent breakfasts and very comfy king sized beds . the location is excellent . thank you for a lovely stay.

A little tired but service and breakfast good. Well positioned on Northborne Ave.

The room was good and spacious. The housekeeping was excellent could not be faulted. We spent 2 nights there and found it a great central location. The only down side was the restaurant not open on the weekends. The buffet breakfast was heavenly. We would certainly stay there again

I found the room clean with a pleasant outlook. At the Service Desk I was not given any information at all, just given a bill to sign. I don't think it would have taken more then 30 seconds to explain where the dining rooms were, what floor I was on, or if I needed a hand with my luggage. None of these questions were asked. I went to Canberra to work on Foreshore Festival, so when I booked in at 3.00pm I may not have looked the freshest, but I have walked into Sheraton On The Park in the same state and I was still treated like royalty, which made my experience there memorable for the right reasons. At no time did i wish to approach the Service Desk again at the Rex

The location was excellent, the room clean and I feel this is important, bathroom clean, everything looked dated including carpets. The breakfast was excellent and very good choices

I stayed here many times after trying the others first, and I settled on the Rex as being the best overall for the money. Hope that you don't get noisy neighbours.

We stayed 2 nights and was not very pleased with the cleaning after the first night, it was only minimal. Good location, close to Canberra CBD. Booked 'delux' Queen room and given average twin room. Not overly impressed. Will probably not return.

We enjoyed our stay with you at Rex and your buffet breakfast was terrific with plenty of variety. We found your location convenient & staff were friendly and helpfull.

A well priced hotel. The breakfast was quite good and dinner in the restaurant was excellent value and quality. The front desk staff were efficient and helpful, although the staff in the restauant need better training to inprove their efficiency. I would definitely stay there on my next visit.

Very efficient staff & excellent breakfast included. Equipment in "so-called" gym very unsatisfactory - need new & safer aerobic equipment & would be better if it were bigger & included strength machines. Pool far too public for use & causes chlorine odour in adjacent dining facilities. Lifts could do with an upgrade.

The hotel room was very small. The toilet was cracked and broken. The hotel claimed the room was a deluxe renovated room which it wasn't. The lifts were old and had graffiti in them.
