Capital Hotel Beijing Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

I reserved a standard room for 9 days. I was given a deluxe corner room on the 11th floor with a great view. It was a large room with a beautiful granite bathroom. The room was very clean and in working order.

4 out of 5

Looks fine but not up to 5 star rating. Hard mattress as most are in China. Customer service not the best. Unable to answer some pretty basic questions. Three star service. But decent value in other ways.

It's very Westernized which is best for people who don't want a challenge. I had already stayed at another hotel on one leg of my trip that was very Chinese and was looking for more amenities. This hotel is within walking distance to most attractions and is suitable for families as well as children.

Ideally located for attractions. Good eating at tyhe hotel and in surrounding areas and across the road. Handy for public transport. The beds are hard but they are hard everywhere in China. Staff very attentive and helpful. Would certainly return if in China again.

Beautiful place to stay. Was pleased with the bed (hard/firm) as this type of bed is good for my back. Would recommend to anyone. Hotel provided tour to Great Wall guided by Wendy who was the best tour guide anyone could ask for. Highly recommend.

This hotel is located relatively near some main attractions like Tiannemen square and Forbidden City and Wongfujing. Beijing is big, so it's still a 20min walk to these places. The bell hops were very helpful in getting taxis and handling luggage. Subway stop is down the street about 3-4mins. There is the smell of smoke that permeates the entire hotel since they allow smoking in the lobby area. Nice restaurant and spa facilities. Ok gym, though there were no free weights, only treadmill machines and some universals.

Great location, 10mins walk from Tiananmen Square. Not many restaurants in the immediate vicinity but there are plenty in the Chongwenmen area which is only 10mins walk away. We had both the breakfast and the dinner buffet within the hotel and both were excellent and reasonably priced.

The hotel was great - but a bit too far from the sub way. About 10 min walk and that seems far when we have been walking all day. Also dont ride the bike-cars in front of the hotel. The prices was 10 times higher than we thought we have agreed with the driver. But overall a very nice hotel.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms are large, clean and with good facilities. The location is great too - in the middle of the historic Foreign Legation quarter and only 15 minutes walk from Tiahanamen sq and Forbidden city. There is an excellent bowling alley in the basement with 4 regular sized lanes and electronic scoring.

Rooms were very good size of abt 38 sq mt. Location is very good especially for those who would like to walk to Tiananmen Square, Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven or the Wang Fujing shopping street, quite central to these places with 15-20 minutes walking required. Internet usage rates are rather high as well as prices at the coffee house, if they can improvise on this than it would be a perfect 4 star hotel.

The hotel was big and spacy but not many guests, sometimes the amount of staff felt more than guests. The lobby restaurant had bad chinese cuisine compared to outside restaurants, quite pricy coffe and food compared to outside might explain why the hotel looked empty on guests. The staff was helpful though. Overall we were satisfied but would't consider to stay there again.

Gorgeous hotel and very close to Forbidden City etc. Food and drinks a bit expensive and not much English spoken, but try hard enough with a little patients and the staff will give you the world. Tripple the size rooms and cheaper then any decent hotel in Hong Kong. Little restoration that went on but hardly noticed the noise.
